I am freaking out! i finally choose a color that i loved and all my girls loved and i had them pick what style dress they wanted. they all wanted to wait to order the dresses from david’s on cyper monday. well one of my girls tried to order it now, and it says on the website that it wouldn’t arrive in time. my wedding is on 2/9 and it says the dresses wouldn’t come till 2/28.
i am so upset and i don’t know what to do. i am trying to please everyone and now i have to find a whole new color!!
Does anyone have experience with david’s bridal bridesmaids dresses and knowing how long it really takes for them to come in??

Have you tried speaking to a representative in person at a local store rather than just checking the date online? They might be able to place a rush for you, but it might cost a little more.
I think for an early February wedding they’d be cutting it a bit close if they wait until Black Friday to order. It wouldn’t leave any time for alterations at all. Once you get the shipping situation figured out with DB, I’d speak with your girls and ask them to order ASAP.

My bridesmaids and I went to David’s Bridal Saturday, 11/3 and 2 of the dresses arrived yesterday and the other 2 haven’t yet. We ordered 2 different styles so the 2 that arrived are of the same style. Our consultant told us that depending on the style some take longer to ship. She also told us if we liked a style not to wait because certain styles or colors may get discontinued. So I didn’t want to take any chances and we ordered them immediately for my May wedding. My dress was also from David’s and it arrived about 10 days after I ordered it.

When I ordered bridesmaids dresses from DB, two came in about a month later, and the other two came in after about 6 weeks past order date. I think they give a long estimate just incase there are issues, but I would call someone from the actual store and speak with them. You might be able to put a rush order in at an extra cost.

I agree that I’d talk with someone from the actual store. What color is it? Are all the dresses in that color showing up as backordered/special order or just a particular style? If this color is important to you, you could also opt to go the route of Azazie. 2 of my BMs are doing that and the dresses come in about 3 weeks which is pretty fast. They also ship swatches out really quickly if you wanted to compare and the price point seems pretty comparable to DB.

1) Did they check with other locations?
2) My niece ordered her dress in July, the assistant (who was awful) insisted she needed a size 16. When it arrived it was too small. Tried to get it let out, not possible. Ended up hainvg to speak to that stores manager who told me her dress would not be here until 10 days before the wedding. It arrived 11 days before. But it did fit. That being said …..there wait times are pretty legit.

I ordered a bridesmaid dress and the arrival date was the end of sept I got it in august so maybe they will get it on time Order direct from the store and call different stores they may have the size in store as a sample you can purchase

When my bridesmaids ordered their dresses from DB last week, the consultant informed us that the dresses wouldn’t be delivered until 2/28. She said it was because all their dresses are manufactured in China, and they take basically the entire month of February off for the Chinese New Year.

ashyadorable : I’ve looked at bridesmaids dresses on Amazon and many have great reviews and can be customized. Many arrive within a month or even offer prime. My friend got hers from Amazon and they looked gorgeous. Stop trying to please everyone. Its your wedding.

nikkiv1313 : I second this. I got a $20 dress from Amazon for a friend’s wedding and it was actually gorgeous!
Also, if you do call David’s Bridal to inquire about the order, be sure to ask them what would happen in the event that they can’t complete the order (such as, would you get your deposit back?). There are strong rumors that David’s Bridal may be filing for bankruptcy soon, and you don’t want an Alfred Angelo situation on your hands!

David’s bridal might be filing for bankruptcy? Really? Everyone I know got their dresses at Davids. We had a good experience with them, but we did buy the dresses way early. I think they took two weeks to come in, and another week for alterations, but it was all done with relative ease. I guess I lucked out.

yogabride2018 : That’s what the news is reporting this week, but it seems it doesn’t mean a complete shutdown, though may possibly mean store closures.
It just makes me nervous and I would definitely ask about a rushed order if you do go with them, OP.

CloverBells : yikes! That’s really scary, I definitely would be thinking twice about going with them if they’re in financial trouble and contemplating major infrastructure changes. Noooooo thank you.

You have to give them the incorrect date. If you put in that your wedding is 12/31 you will get the dresses in time. They have an automated system that tells them what an appropriate time frame would be. I tried to order shoes dyed to match my girls dresses for my wedding and needed them in time for my first dress fitting. By going by my actual wedding date they wouldn’t come in time, by giving them a fake (earlier) date they arrived in plenty of time. Davids bridal is the biggest joke of a bridal store, I didn’t get my dress from there for that very reason so I would suggest trying to just find somewhere else.

ashyadorable : I know this may not be super helpful. But they told the wedding party I was in 14 weeks from the day we ordered ours… came in literally that week.
Granted we ordered in store… but that was a HUGE difference in what I was told to what actually happened. Because I told the other bridesmaids who needed more time to save up 14 weeks… when obviously they didn’t have to rush to buy. Bunch of unnecessary stress on some girls.
