Hello bees! I’m a bridesmaid and the bride said we could choose any David’s Bridal bridesmaid dress in Apple. I’ve never been to David’s Bridal before and there isn’t a location downtown I can pop into, so I was hoping some readers here might be able to help:
– How does DB work? Do I have to make an appt and order the dress through them and then they’ll alter it?
– How is the sizing?
– Any suggestions of websites I can buy a pre-owned dress from?
Thanks for any tips you can provide!

I just went to DB last week to help my friend pick out the bridesmaid dresses for her wedding, and went back this week to buy it.
You don’t really need an appointment, you can just go in there they will help you find the dresses in Apple, after looking up the bride in their database. You can’t order the dress online, unfortunately – because you have sign a (ridiculous) contract saying you can’t return the dress once it’s ordered.
For alterations, they will do them in store, but if it were me, I’d take it to my personal alterations person…
There are many different styles of dresses, and the sizing depends on the style. In one dress, I wore my normal size, but in another I wore one size bigger than normal. Another friend of mine (who wears a 4, but is a C-cup), ended up having to get an 8 because of her chest. So it really depends. And honestly, a lot of DB dresses are not really standard-fitting dresses.
Since you can get ANY dress in Apple, you might try ebay or craigslist and maybe just go up a size more than normal and have it altered somewhere if it doesn’t fit?
Hope that helps! 🙂
