anyone ever buy their dress from the David’s site? I went to a store a few weeks ago and was between tel dresses. After looking at pics and thinking of it, I went back to another store that was much closer to me and tried them on again and it helped me make my decision but I didn’t make the purchase then. I couldn’t stand the sales lady at store #2. I loved the one at the first store but it’s 45 minutes away and and if I went after work, I’d be stuck in traffic and my next few weekends are beyond booked and nothing I have going on is in that direction. I have he model #, size and color I want. Should I buy online? Has this worked for anyone? Anyone ever make a purchase over the phone? The lady at the first store was great and brought me a wide range of dresses in my size, budget and style that I wanted and was great. Would love to give her the commission, just getting there is a pain at the moment. Any stories on how people in similar situations handled this are greatly appreciated!

If you buy online, you can make returns/exchanges. They don’t let you do that on in-store purchases. You can also use promo codes for discounts online.

I’ve heard that you cannot make returns and exchanges at the stores if you buy online, because the online store and the physical stores seem to be run by different management.
Personally I would rather buy a new dress at a physical store because you can get fittings done there, and try on accessories like veils there to see your whole look. And the people will always be there physically if you have problems. It’s risky with online, you never know what might happen.

I bought my dress using David’s online and had no issues. The dress that I wanted wasn’t available at any of the locations near me in my size, so I used an online coupon code and ordered it from their site. The shipping would have been my only loss if I’d had to return, so I was willing to take the risk for the exact dress that I wanted. Once it arrived and I tried it on at home, I just brought it to the closest store and had all of my fittings and alterations done there. Since I bought through DB online, I got the same alterations discount as if I bought in the store and tried on veils and whatnot at my fittings. Worked out perfectly for me.

None of the stores near me have the size and color I want so either way it has to be ordered. I’ve tried it on enough to know it’s what I want. Accessories is different. I’m between two belts in store but have the model number of one of them so I figure I can go online and see similar models since I tried them all on anyway with it. I’m planning on using a tailor in my hometown, not the alterations department through DB.

i’m not a fan of DB in general and wouldn’t recommend purchasing from them, but if you’re going to then i would say buy online – at least that way you can return or exchange the dress (i think for 30 days?) versus if you purchase in-store you’re SOL

I hate shopping and found something I like so I figure why not just go for it. I wasn’t aware their in store return policy varied from the online return policy.
