Shoot, I didn’t even finish it. I think I was almost done when my boyfriend interupted me with dinner (Bojangles, figures) and when I tried to get up after eating I could barely walk!! I knew I was out of shape, but shoot, I didn’t know it was this bad! I spilled my ice tea all over myself too because my arms hurt and I didn’t lift the glass all the way to my mouth when I tried to take a sip. This is just sad. Good thing though… I can only get stronger 🙂
Also, I was wondering about P90X? Anyone completed it and have amazing results as promised? And is it worth the money?

I did p90x with my Fiance and he had better results than I did. I think it is geared more towards men (ie:pull ups- all kinds, push ups, things I coudn’t even dream of doing)
I am currently doing Insanity and I would TOTALLY reccomend it. It keeps you entertained since there is a different work out almost every day. My one piece of advice would be to not over do it. You should push yourself, but really listen to your body. Its really easy to get hurt or pull something while doing home workouts and then you have to stop till you heal. (which totally defeats the purpose to begin with)

Ahh yea I think I pulled something in my leg the first squat thing I did with the Shred… it’s been so long since I’ve done any serious physical activity so I think I missed out on some stretches before hand. Long as it’s not hurting tomorrow I’m really going to push myself… five minutes into it and I was tired already.
My bf and I really wanted to try P90X but we live on the 3rd floor of our apartment and with all the hopping around the commercials show I think we’d get way too many noise complaints…
@stephanie63087: Hey Congrats to you for sticking to it for five whole weeks! I’ve never been able to stick to anything for that long, which is why I’m hoping that I’ll be able to do this 30 day thing (shorter amount of time I have to stick to it= greater chance of me finishing it). And it’s only day one for me but I am realllllllly feeling it, so I guess I’d recommend it so far!

Ok I just finished day 2 and I’m feeling really good 🙂
Reading some other posts, I see that a lot of people reccommend a diet plan with the 30 Day Shred, so I am going to try to eat healthier. More fruit, less sugary desserts. More veggies, less greasy pasta. Good meats like chicken. My thoughts as far as this goes, is that if it’s only for 30 days while I’m doing the Shred, then I can do this. Most of the time I set goals for myself, but without a timeline or end date and I end up forgetting about it two days later and eat everything I want. BUT I think if I have this 30 day thing, the end is in sight, so I think I can stick with it. Ugh, I’m so bad at motivating myself.

You can do it! I am also not the best at keeping up motivation (better at starting than finishing when it comes to fitness) but trying to get better…it’s hard, but we can do it!
I think a focus on healthier, more local/whole foods is a great way to eat better without feeling like you’re “on a diet”, but give yourself a chance to succeed–don’t change too much at once! If the heavy pastas are something you love, have a small portion plus a nice salad or something, you know?

I did P90X and have lost around 50 lbs so far…with putting on muscle mass (3 dress sizes down, about 4 to 5 jean size, depending on the brand, 2 shirt sizes). At first i could barely do one pull up, now I can do a handful without assistance and about 15 more with a chair. You get stronger really quick, but you have to put the effort in. It;s hard work but the results are amazing!

@BunnyBrideToBe: That’s exactly what I did today at work! We get a buffet lunch, so I had salad, lots of fruit, cauliflower and a tiny helping of baked mac&cheese just to satisfy my craving. But then of course I get home for dinner and my bf has ordered Dominos pizza and cheesey bread and those sugary stick things…. shoot. I’m going to have to have a talk with him about that…
Oh! And something I noticed today… (background: I really hate how I have chubby legs, my thighs rub together and I have holes in most of my jeans right at the crotch because it wears out so fast and I just feel really gross about my legs) I’m sore on my inner thighs! This is great because I really want to shape up my legs and in any other work out I have done, my inner thighs have never been this sore!! It’s just something I’m really excited about 🙂
