The wedding I’m in this summer is kind of having a day-after BBQ. The wedding is on a Friday near the beach, so the Bride & Groom have rented out a beach house for 12 of their friends and we’ll all be staying there night of the wedding and the next night, so we’ll be all hanging out the Saturday after the wedding. Not sure we’ll be doing a BBQ, but we’ll be doing something!

We are indeed doing a day after BBQ but it’ll be potluck, bring what you want to grill and drink kind of thing. We felt that a lot of people were coming in from out of town to spend time with us and since it’s Labor day weekend why not do it up.

my Future Mother-In-Law mentioned having a bbq at their house the day after since they have some family coming in from out of town for our wedding, including her daughter and fiance. so they don’t expect us to come but we will go im sure. we will probably be staying at a hotel near the airport that night since we have an 8:30am flight out of JFk airport for the honeymoon, and who’s gonna wanna drive us that early?! i think it would be nice to just unwind and talk about the night before with everyone.
i would dress super casual and comfy. no white i dont think, the one night is enough!

Yes, we’re having a post-wedding BBQ. My parents will be hosting (his parents are hosting the rehearsal). We plan on unwinding, hanging out, openning our wedding gifts, and having some good grub. We’re either doing tri-tip or burgers/dogs, salad, and chili. Our’s will be pretty low key… just jeans, tees, no big decorations unless my mom does it. It’s time to unwind!

I think that would be really fun! If I wasn’t going on my honeymoon then that would be something fun to do. Especially since half our guest list is out of state.

We are delaying out honeymoon by a day in order to have a day-after BBQ. My girls and my parents are hosting it AT our house and it will be invite only with people who are here from out of town or are very close friends of ours. We are doing a kid-free wedding, so this will be the day with little ones running around. I’m going to have a drink, relax a little, and we leave the next morning (Sunday) for Puerto Vallarta for a week.

I’d like to have a big bbq the day after, but I’m not sure if we’ll be up to it. Our wedding is over at midnight on Saturday and we’ll probably leave for our honeymoon on Monday…might want to rest on Sunday…hmmmm…what to do?? lol…

Yep! Our wedding is on a Friday evening so lots of our out of state family plan on staying through the Sunday. So we’re organizing a day after BBQ to begin sometime in the early evening. The issue we’re having right now is WHERE to have it. Our place is too small to accomodate both families and our bridal party. Both of our parents have offered to host it but they both live an hour away from where everyone will be staying meaning we’d have to arrange transportation for everyone. Parks here don’t allow alcohol. And fiance doesn’t want to have it at the hotel. Soooo… we’re kind of stressing over our desired BBQ. I have a feeling we’ll be having it at our home but will be hiring a cleaning person to come in the next day.
I love the idea. Everyone warns that the wedding day/evening will fly by and we won’t even remember talking to some of the people. I love knowing that we’ll have a 2nd chance the night after to relax with our family and friends whom we don’t get to see often… relax and have a chance to sip on the drinks we most likely won’t get to at our wedding.

We are!!! Then again the day after our wedding is 4th of July so it just seemed natural

Yep! We’re having a picnic/lunch/pool party thing the following day. Casual but it’ll be fun to hang out with people especially since I have a feeling the wedding night will be hectic.

Yup! My aunt is being kind enough to offer up her house to host a day-after BBQ. Since we are getting married over Memorial Day weekend, we figured it would fit. Most of our out of town guests are heading out the day after the wedding, so it will likely just be my local family plus FIs immediate family that are not heading straight home. Very low key–hot dogs, hamburgers, salads, etc. Nothing wedding related, unless we have leftovers from the candy bar!

We had a bbq the day after too so I think it’s a good idea! his family hosted it, our wedding ended up being on a friday so everyone was ready for labor day celebrations! In reality, at first I didn’t really want to go because I really wanted to “spend some time” with my new husband, especially since we weren’t going on our honeymoon right away…but after we got there I enjoyed myself…

We are planning a bbq, but not for the day after. We’re getting married Labor Day weekend. The wedding is on a Saturday night and we’ll have the bbq on that Monday. We have alot of family coming in from overseas as well as throughout the US so we thought it would be fun. Also, my fiance’s dad’s bday is about a week later so we’ll also be doing a pre-birthday celebration during the bbq as well since he won’t get to be with his dad for his actual bday.

Before and After Parties!
We’re not having a rehearsal dinner, but are inviting all of the Out of Town guests to a campfire night at our cabin the night before the wedding for s’mores. We’re providing sparklers and glow necklaces for fun and will be distributing our Out of Town totebags then.
The day after the wedding we’re inviting all guests to our cabin for burgers and dogs. We’re on a lake, so folks can swim, enjoy the sun, play horseshoes or frisbee or just hang out and do some more catching up.
A lot of our guests will be Out of Town, so we’re hoping that it is more of a wedding weekend, than just a day. =D

We arent having a day after BBQ, but we are having what I like to call a “Friends and Family Social” it will be pretty much be food, drinks, and everyone meeting and greeting before the wedding.
