There was just another post on this topic and I think it’s a wonderful idea. I remember very little of my experience having my DS and most of it isn’t good.. it would be great to be able to look back and have those moments that were good captured.

I’m having a home birth this time and am considering having one of our photog friends dropping by =)

I like the idea of pictures over a video. A video is great, but I’m not sure I want any videos DOWN THERE during that time. I think pictures like these could help capture the emotions of the day, and those tiny little moments (like the couple holding hands, or whom I presume to be her mom patting her ont he back) that will easily be forgotten.

I would LOVE something like this, but I think it might work best if it were a photographer that you were really close to– either an exceptional relationship with your photographer or a family member. Otherwise, labor can be a long process, so it might be hard to have a photographer there all day.

I love the idea of that, but all 3 L&Ds I worked at, as an RN, did not allow photos of the actual birth.   You could take pictures just before and just after.

@MsBrooklynA:  Most hospital in the US where I worked were very, very concerned with lawsuits.  If anything went wrong down the road, people are quick to go back to pictures and use them as evidence in court, whether there was an issue with the birth or not.

This one is fuzzy but my favorite. It was the first second I got to hold her. Yes, I look like a hott mess.

Beautiful! My mom is a photographer and I’m hoping she can take a few photos like that, but with all the emotion involved (being her grandson’s birth and all), I don’t know that the photos would come out anything like those beautiful pictures. Hope when your time comes, you’re able to get photos like that!
