I did some research and hired a gal from http://www.sugarrushevents.com She can cater your services (like most I had been researching) al a carte. So you can hire her to do as much or as little as you want. She is willing to help you shave down or up as much hands on as you want her to.

I looked on theknot.com for Day of coordinators in Northern Cali. Then I went from there. I hope that helps!

OF COURSE they want to do more, just be clear about what you want and get the price that works for you.  I’ve basically seen them agree to 3 total hours of consult and then they agree to be the point of contact for the 2 weeks prior in all arrangements, for $1,000 to $1,500.  Good luck!

My best friend hired Artistic Wedding and Event Planning in Sac.  I think she found her on the Knot.  She was very happy with the services and price.  I was a bridesmaid in that wedding and thought she was nice.  We just got engaged and I am thinking I may need to hire someone too.

I have been a very hands-on DIY bride and the consultants I’ve talked to so far have tried to alter my plans. I am very open to creative and fresh ideas but the ideas coming my way are cheesy! Like toule, christmas lights everywhere, jordan almonds, etc. So I am on the fence about hiring a day of consultant. My Fiance works at a local University and I’m thinking of approaching the design students and paying them for the day and giving them direct photos of how I want things…
