I’m looking for an affordable DOC. I would prefer someone who understands Chinese or Vietnamese culture although this is not a make or break requirement. We’ll be having a traditional tea ceremony and want someone who’s familiar with that. I’m Chinese and my fiance is Vietnamese. It would be nice if the DOC speaks some Cantonese preferably (or Mandarin).

In the current economy, most companies will do anything to get and keep your business so don’t be afraid to tell them that you only have $X available to spend and ask what they can do with that amount.

Hi pinkginger. You messaged me under my pre-Bee name (Jellyby), so I couldn’t find a way to pm you back. I ended up going with Angel Swanson of Events of Love and Splendor. She’s awesome. And while she doesn’t speak Chinese, she’s very familiar with Chinese weddings, and for our wedding she hired a Chinese-speaking assistant to help with crowd control. If you’re interested in hiring her, she’s done three Bee weddings, including Mrs. Jasmine and myself. Also, she’s a Weddingbee Pro.
Other Chinese-speaking DOCs I looked into were Kelley Gin of Picture Perfect, Carolyn Chen of the Special Day, and Michelle Weita of Details Details. Hope this helps!

Try Clementine & Clover, they’re really affordable, less than $500 for DOC in OC/LA, but REALLY good! http://www.clementineandclover.com
They’ve also got a location up in the Bay Area.
