I was just looking online for a DOC in my area actually. They all ranged anywhere from $600-$1000….way too much for me thanks.

I came this far without having a coordinator, and as less stressful it would be to have someone doing everything for me on the wedding day, coughing up over $600 isin’t my cup of tea!

I booked mine already for my June 2010 wedding but I kind of jumped the gun on it. I know I needed a DOC. My wedding is in NYC and I’m paying $650 for 7 hours of service with 2 meetings prior to the wedding. That’s on the lower end of what I found for NYC. Maybe you can looked in the Classified on weddingbee to find someone offering free or discounted services?

Hi Marigold!

Most brides begin enlisting the services of a DOC usually 2-3 months prior to their wedding date, sometimes SOONER! A lot of times its a lot sooner to their wedding date because by then they are realizing that they are going to need assistance in ensuring that everything goes according to as planned so that they can actually ENJOY their wedding day.

Some brides are booking their DOC about a year or up to 8 months in advance, so it all depends on who (the planner) is available and what they have to offer you. It will also depend on your budget and what you can afford; and whether or not this planner (DOC) is right for you.

DOC can often range from $300-2500 depending on location. But I would also advise you to check out the classified ads and see if you can find a planner within your range or that meets your standards as to what you’re looking for. Hope this helps! Congratulations on your engagement!

I would look for a doc only three to four months before the wedding unless you want a month of coordinator or a full wedding planner!

I looked at the local posts here in Weddingbee in Los Angeles, & Orange county areas and I found my doc thru one of the more recents posts! If your looking for a true DOC meaning only day of…i would start laughing once they mention $1000 and up. But if you want a higher end doc then I can see paying that much. I ended up with someone new in the business and so far she is great!   Seriously, check out the local posts in Weddingbee! I interviewed 4 docs and they were all between $500-$1000 range. However, I did get some emails from a few docs that hovered above the $1000 range. eek! No thanks.
