My wedding is still pretty far away but I’ve decided that I think I need a wedding coordinator. I’m a very type A personality kinda girl and I realllllllly don’t want to have to stress about things being done the way I want them on the day. I can’t afford a full time wedding coordinator and thought this might be a good option.
To those of you that have or had day of coordinators, was it worth it? What were their responsibilities or what did you ask them to do? Also, if you don’t mind, how much did it costs?

@jamithebride: This was actually one of the first things I booked! A friend recommended to me to find one early because they can book up fast. You definitely don’t need one, but for me, I don’t want to worry about every little thing on the day of.
I’m paying about $500 for my DOC and she’s doing some floral arranging for us for an extra $175. I interviewed a few and ended up picking a coordinator who was newer to the field because she seemed more eager to help with things at no additional cost to build her portfolio. She’s going to make our time breakdown schedule spreadsheet for the weekend, arrange the rehearsal, confirm with vendors a couple weeks out, and make sure everything runs smoothly on the day of.
I love DIY details but I think having a DOC has allowed me to indulge my DIY side while knowing there will be someone else to look out for making sure everything is set up right on the day of the wedding. I also email her frequently for advice, and she’s been really helpful!

This was the first thing I booked too, before my venue even!
