(Closed) Day of: Did you set up your own candy bar?

    I had a really great reception venue.  They let us in the night before and we set it all up.  We labelled all the containers put all the serving utensils in the containers, and left the candy under the table.  The morning of the wedding, the servers put all the candy in the containers for me. And they made sure it stayed full, and they didn’t charge us anything extra.  Of coruse it helped that I sent them home with take out boxes of candy for their kids. 🙂  It was a small wedding of about 80 people, and the candy buffett turned out. AMAZING!

    i’m doing my own! so far i have purchased all of my jars. i will fill them with candy a couple days in advance and then drop them off at my venue with my decorations so that it can be set up. i don’t think it is worth it to hire someone.

    I think the $1,000 is steap but I also think you’ll be surprised how expensive it can be when you do it yourself.  There is many cheap candy sellers online but the shipping can kill you.  Keep your eyes open for deals on jars at discount stores like Home Goods and even thrift stores. It can add up fast.

    I like the idea of having it ready to go the day before, I also suggest taking a picture  of how you want it set up to avoid confussion. Ask a friend or aunt to be in charge. Normally people like feeling inolved and helpful.
