bananastand: I haven’t been outside of Paris except for the CDG airport (which is really outside of Paris) and Versaille. I do recommend Versaille. Check out the palace. It’s so huge and can take at least half a day. Plus, it’s only about a 40 minute train ride from Paris so you can easily come back in the evening.

These are all so helpful! It’s going to be so hard to narrow these down to just one!
pink.lemonade: i am SO glad to hear this!! after the suggestion for La Cuisine Paris in my last thread, we put it on our list and are definitely doing it. We were initially going to do a cooking class, but decided a tour might be a better option so I’m SO glad that to hear that you had a good experience! We will only have time for one, though, so in your experience would you recommend the tour over the cooking class if you have to choose?

bananastand: I would probably recommend the walking tours. My husband was working in Paris so the cooking classes were a fun way to fill my day, but if you’re in Paris for a short time you get to see lots of the city on the walks! And you still get to eat lots of delicious French food. They give you great ideas of where to go in your own time too.
The only walk I did was the pastry tour. It was AMAZING! It sounds expensive, but we got soooo much food! I was pregnant, and the other walks were a little too wine and cheese focused for me (and too much walking as I got bigger). Sad face. I’m dying to go back. They look amazing.
For cooking classes I did:
Croissants and breakfast pastries
Seriously, I love it there!! I spent way too much money. I just looked on the website and they’ve got great looking stuff coming up!

bananastand: Highly recommend Versailles and Reims. You can do them both yourself by taking the train or you can do a day trip tour. And there’s a pastry tour that was amazing. I don’t have the name on hand though but be prepared to eat. Perfect if you have a sweet tooth 🙂

We went on a day trip to monets house and gardens. It. Was. Amazing. Hands down our favorite part of our whole trip to Paris. So beautiful and peaceful and if you’re into art its living history. They also have some kick ass Apple brandy and tart in the cafe on site.
