I don’t know the answer, but your dress looks amazing on you!!  I’m getting my dress from DB and will need alterations, but I haven’t heard good things either so I’m interested to hear what others think.

I second that it looks fabulous on you!

As for DB alterations, I think it depends on what/how much you need done. I had mine taken in, cups sewn in, and bustled and DB did a perfect job. I didn’t need to add something or take anything away so they were fine for what I needed done. Since the seamstress already expressed some concern about removing the beading, I’d check somewhere else first.

I got my dress altered there and had no problems, I did however only get a bustle and hem. My best friend got her dress there as well for her wedding. She bought one of those $99 dresses and had it altered from a 8 to a 4. I think her price was like $300, but that was a LOT of altering and it looked amazing on her day.

As for price, my bridesmaid dresses needed hemming. Some went to DB and others went somewhere else. There really was no price difference.

If you want to find other prices, feel free to taking it to other places. If your dressed getting ruined is a concern, I would just stick with DB and get it altered there. If they ruin it, they have to get you a new dress, ya know? Also, you would probably get a size smaller for free. I went down a dress size between ordering and my first fitting. They ordered me a brand new dress. They told me they will also do this for bridesmaid dresses. I guess its a secret policy they have that they don’t want anyone to know! lol

I bought my prom dress there not to long ago (yes, I am that young) and after shopping around I learned that their alterations are CRAZY expensive. Shop around if you can and I’m sure you’ll find someone more qualified for cheaper.
