I’m out the first three weeks of March, but I’ll be following to see when the meet up is!

I vote for Belga Cafe – closest metro is Eastern Market (blue/orange line). It is a small place, but good food and in my neighborhood!  My second choice is Saturday brunch at Beacon Bar and grille – I have never been but it seems like a good deal.  I have also heard great things about Tabard Inn…so all are great choices!

Either day of the weekend works for me, and all of the options sound great!  Looking forward to it!

All those options are great, and I’ll just throw Busboys & Poets into the mix as a suggestion for brunch.  While it doesn’t apply to me, they have great vegan/vegetarian/gluten free options for anyone with food issues.  But man…those Tabard Inn dougnuts?  To die for!

They don’t reeeally take reservations, but you can call an hour in advance to get your name put in.  I’ve gone with big crowds before and have been sat pretty easily.

@ddw: Hah well tell you one thing, no way that Tabard Inn will ever be able to accomodate that many people!  I had to call like a month in advance to get just a reservation for 2!! (eek!!)  I wish we could just storm the place….

But yeah, I second the finding a date then a place hah, and maybe trying to get an estimate of how many people?  If it’s 30, I worry that there will be very few places in DC that will be able to do it, although we may be able to negotiate with a place like Busboys, or another bigger spot….

Either way I’m happy to help plan and very excited!  Thanks for taking the lead on this!

I agree, if the crowd is larger like 30 than places like Belga Cafe are either too small or might not be able to accomadate the large group.  Another suggestion is Matchbox.  They have a good brunch and decent mimosas.  The one on Barrack’s Row (across the street from Belga Cafe) is fairly large and they have outdoor seating (depends how nice it will be in March).

Front Page (dupont) also does a good brunch!

    1. Do post-wedding brides go to these meet-ups?
    2. Make sure to post this on the Northern VA board too. It doesn’t get as much traffic, but I’m sure some people will look at that board.

I’m a lurker on this board and would love to join you guys.  In the interest of full disclosure I have to tell you that I’m a wedding planner, but I swear I wouldn’t be coming to advertise my services (most of you ladies don’t need a wedding planner anyway because you get such great advice from one another).  I’m merely a fellow wedding enthusiast and just love listening to everyone’s wedding plans.  I’m also a huge fan of online discussion forums and have hoped for a long time to see a local wedding forum become really active in the DC area (by really active, I’m talking hundreds of posts a day).
