I want to have a photoshoot around my 1 year anniversary coming up in a few months in April or May to wear my wedding dress again and get pics that I felt I wasn’t able to get the day of my wedding. I see these gorgeous romantic pics of brides where they are surrounded by all of these flowers and I want to find a place that really embodies that romantic bright and colorful springtime/floral garden vibe to do a photoshoot at, but I am don’t know if a place like this in the DMV area even exists?
Anyone in the DMV area know of a place like this and when would be the best time during the spring season to book something like this?
Also, I did my engagement pics at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens in Vienna in August last year, and none of their vegetation seemed very flowery due to the season, so I am also wondering if anyone knows if all of their vegetation will be boutinous and very floral in April/May, if that could be a potential photoshoot location?

Brookside Gardens in Wheaton, MD! It’s free, plenty of parking, and beautiful.

chatnoir : Dumbarton Oaks in Georgetown has incredible gardens (but is not free, may need to ask if you can do the photography there). Spring is a beautiful time for their flowers. Same with Meriweather-Post estate (Hillwood I think it’s called? Something like that) in Observatory Circle area in DC. DC also has the national arboretum, though fewer flowers vs. greenery.
DC bee here! IDK why the text is so big…

chatnoir : It’s a bit of a drive, but you could try Lewis Ginter botanical garden in Richmond. Their website says flowers begin blooming in March.

I will definitely look into some of these options, thanks for the ideas so far.

PPs had great ideas — I’d also suggest asking your photographer for interesting places they’ve shot that match your vision. It seems like they always know the greatest hidden corners of the city!
FWIW – we did our wedding photos at Meridian Hill Park – it’s definitely more of a garden but less floral feeling, but such a cool place too.

JiminyCricket : Oh yes, I was thinking about asking whoever I chose as a photographer if they had any ideas as well. Thanks for the suggestion, I’ll definitely check that location out 🙂
