DC area bees –
I need to get my dress cleaned, and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations? I don’t need it preserved, since I will probably donate it to charity or sell it to another bride, but obviously it should be in good shape at that time! Would a regular dry cleaner work if that’s what I’m going for? I live in Arlington, so anything local would be great!

I’ve gone to this dry cleaner my entire life. They are super friendly, do a wonderful job and are pretty reasonable for everyday stuff.

They charge about $200 for cleaning and preservation in the acid free box etc. They are just terrific, and I’m sure if you went in and explained what you’re looking for (i.e. not something that needs to last forever) they can tell you what is best.

Bump. I’m also looking to get my dress cleaned in DC. Any suggestions in the Georgetown/Dupont area?

I also checked the older thread (thanks for linking!). I bought a dress at Filene’s Running of the Brides that has some black marks on it. They are light, and the cleaning person at Filene’s assured me they’d be easy to get out. I’m just wondering if anyone else has had their dress cleaned BEFORE the wedding, and how much it might cost for just the cleaning without preservation.
