(Closed) Dealing with "maybe" RSVP's?

I would call those in question and say, “I need to give the caterer an exact head count for the wedding.  Can you please verify that you will be coming?”

If they marked ‘no’ on the RSVP cards, then count them as no. Plain and simple, unless they have since called to say they can now make it. If they marked down yes, then count them as coming. You will no doubt have a couple of people who said yes but for one reason or another cannot actually make it.

I would not count them in for your food count but let the venue coordinator know you have an extra seat at table X should this person show up. Generally caterers and restaurants can accomodate +5% for food so if this is really 2-3 people you should be fine. Furthermore, it is likely someone who said yes will not make it so you just may have an extra seat/meal anyway.
