You’ll probably have to bite the bullet and buy clothes in a larger size.  When your clothes fit properly (no muffin tops, etc), you look SO much better.  I also find that empire waist dresses or A-Line dresses/skirts are flattering because they’re more flowy and forgiving.

@mrs-ally-bee:  I would probably get clothes that aren’t too clingy/tight.  Also, I would figure out what made you gain the weight in the first place (poor diet, lack of exercise, etc) so that you aren’t fighting with your body.  I highly recommend doing core exercises too (my problem area is my belly and it has really helped).
