Dear Shady Lady Claiming To Be From Statistics Canada,
You buzzed our apartment claiming you accidentally pressed 206, but that you needed to talk to the person in 205 and could we let you in. DH told you no, that you needed to buzz 205. Instead you kept buzzing other people in our building until some idiot let you in.
You then proceeded to knock on 205’s door repeatedly for five minutes. At which point I had had enough, opened the door, and said pointedly, “If they haven’t answered by now, they’re probably not home.” To which you replied, “But I think can hear noises in there.” I responded with, “Look, I don’t know who let you in, but if it wasn’t 205, then they’re obviously not home and you shouldn’t be here.” You proceeded to shuffle your feet and look nervous, then said, “I guess they’re not home.” YA THINK?
Thank you for finally leaving my building. If you really are who you say you are, how about not trying to gain entry by lying next time? Hm?

Dear Douchecanoe Who Let Shady Lady In,
Didn’t your mother ever tell you not to open the door to strangers? How about NOT letting every Tom, Dick and Harry into the building just because they pretend to be a dumbass who meant to buzz someone else?

They are probably the same stupid person who doesn’t wait for the gate to the parkade to close behind them either. Then when there are breakins and cars vandalized they are outraged ( at least I hope it’s their car that is damaged- not just mine!)

Ugh some people!!! How annoying. Glad that you got to vent that always helps me.

Ugh I hate people that buzz someone else! If the person you are trying to reach isn’t answering, then you have no right there. I’d say you have a minute to leave or else I’m going to notify the police!

Hmm I wonder if it actually was a StatsCan volunteer. They’ve been going through our building trying to get the stragglers to complete their census.
Still totally weird though.

Yeah, I will close the front door of my building on whoever’s walking behind me if I don’t recognize them. Nobody’s taken offense. If you have a key, you can get in. I’m not compromising the safety of the whole building out of politeness.
Wish I knew who the idiot was that let her in.

She probably was, but she had no excuse for gaining entry to the building the way she did. Why didn’t she buzz the manager instead of random people if 205 wasn’t answering? Just seemed fishy to me. And she was acting really weird, both on the intercom and in person.

Good point, she should have done that. We have building security so anyone without a key has to sign in and deal with them.
