My miniature schnauzer follows me around everywhere. He fights for attention by sitting on my computer when I’m on Facebook or WB. His breed are very loyal to their owners. They are very smart. But you need to know how to train them and be the pack leader. If not, they’ll walk all over you 🙂

Our pitbull mix is a snuggle rapist, sounds horrible but he completely is. He will snuggle you against your will. If you’re doing work and he decides it’s snuggle time you will be leaned on and whined at until you cuddle with him. He’s not allowed on the bed anymore (way too pregnant) so he’ll lie in wait until we’re both asleep and then snuggle in between us. Though now I wake up and kick him off again, but he lives for the mornings when I wake up and let him back up on the bed and he can just be pet and loved a bunch while we wake up.

I have a basset mix who loves to snuggle!!! omg she is sometimes overbearing she wants to always lay on you or cuddle up with you like 24-7 LOL i always tell her you arent going to find a boyfriend because you are too smothering LOL so funny.

I actually think its just how you raise the dog as to jsut being a certian breed.

It definitely depends on the dog, not just the breed.

We’ve got a black lab/chow mix (and who knows what else – that’s just what he looks like) that just loves to snuggle with you.

Now, our purebred yellow lab will not take being ‘snuggled’ – but he does like to be close. Multiple times a week I wake up to no covers and I’m at the edge of the bed, as he’s pushed me so far to the edge. He just wants to be right on top of you, but if you dare wrap your arm around him, he’s gone. I’ve woken up unable to feel my feet/legs, as I’ve had 80lbs of puppy passed out on them.. He’s what I call a “bad snuggler”.

Pit bulls are big snugglers <3 I have one who greets me every morning by diving under the covers in front of me and laying down so he can be “spooned” when FH gets out of bed. My other dog is a puppyish beagle/lab and he is ALWAYS on my feet or right next to me too. My shih tzu is also a snuggler, but she likes to be right in your face!!! haha

Before my three now, I had a doxie (dachshund) who was a big snuggler too, and a chow who was a snuggler, and a shetland sheepdog who was a snuggler, and a pomeranian who was NOT a snuggler at all (he had OCD about rubbing against furniture though, so that was something lol).

I would say the best thing you can do is adopt a mix from a shelter or rescue, not go by breed. I really think they have a sense that you love them unconditionally and that you “saved” them in a sense, and they trust you more because you bring them to a safe and loving home, which makes them want to cuddle. All my dogs except my shih tzu (who was a gift from my mom) have been shelter dogs. They’re the best. <3

I have a shihtzu-poo (shihtzu/poodle) and she LOVES to snuggle…she’ll lay upside down like a baby in your arms for hours!! only thing i cant stand about her, is that she CONSTANTLY has to lick something if you’re petting her and when you first walk into the door…if you dont let her lick you at least once, she starts to shake! it drives me crazy!! It’s literally almost like being OCD…if she doesn’t get to do it it bothers the crap out of her! haha

@nursein10 My shih tzu does that too!!! It makes me crazy sometimes (like when its naptime, NOT cuddle time haha) If you hold her back so she can’t get to you she just licks the air! lmao

I’ve had English and Neopolitan mastiffs, a West Highland Terrier, black Labrador and two Rhodesian Ridgebacks and out of them the two Ridgebacks are are the most cuddliest. They actually like to sit on me, I swear they think they’re Jack Russel size.

Mine do! One’s a mixed schnauzer and the other is a toy schnauzer… They even snuggle each other! Wish I could post a pic of them snuggling!

My poodle is definitely a snuggler…like stuck to your side anywhere you go. I didn’t think I really liked poodles until I adopted her from a friend and now I truly couldn’t imagine not having a poodle or poodle mix (that whole not shedding think is really awesome;) too)

I also have a Boston Terrier who is ONLY happy if some part of him is touching some part of you…OR, if he’s tearing something to shreds.  He is the biggest snuggle bug of a dog EVER…sometimes to the point of annoyance.  My other dog, a Border collie mix, is actually a LOT like your dog…she’s very independent. She doesn’t sleep with me, she doesn’t want to sit on my lap, she HATES being picked up.  She loves running around and she will let you know when she’s interesting in a few pets.  They actually balance each other out quite well.

I have a pug. He loves to cuddle, he goes under the covers and lays right next to you! And… since he has that pushed in nose, he snores! i adore him!

@troubled: HAHA! this is so my black lab! Our Husky mix just jumps up whenever she feels the need to snuggle…only to have one of us kick her out of bed again. She will BEG to come up on the reclining couches with us too… she likes to snuggle in the diamond area left by your legs. Pathetic. LOL
