@glitter86:  Yep, haha.  Obviously, I didn’t have any body hair at 8, and I didn’t even know what puberty was.  But I was prepared for the day I would have to deal with hair, haha.

@glitter86: That’s how my Darling Husband is too – Watched porn when he was younger, not anymore (made a very strong choice not to)… and is very anti-anything that reminds him too much of that whole scene… and I do think it helps me a lot πŸ™‚ haha

Ok – I decided that I’d open up a bit more about how it went for us… Mostly because I remember having the same questions you had πŸ™‚

We had an open and honest conversation with each other (We were both non-trimmers previously… Mostly because we had no reason to do it!).

We agreed that we were both ok with just going in natural.  Didn’t want to set expectations, didn’t know what we liked/disliked… But also agreed that once we were used to it – there may be a desire for trimming in the future and that we would just be open and honest about it.

However… Then I started to get worried and wonder… So, I talked to a girlfriend (one of my BMs)… She said she prefers it very closely trimmed, but her Darling Husband prefers it a bit longer (so it’s not prickly for him, sorry if that’s TMI).  I then talked to my SIL (another BM) and she said even now, after 7 years of marriage, she still feels awkward if things happen and she hasn’t trimmed.

So, I decided I would give trimming a shot πŸ™‚ Turns out… He ended up having the same concerns too (but didn’t consult with others… Cuz guys aren’t really like that haha) and he had decided to trim as well πŸ™‚

This may also be Too Much Information – I’ve been sick for several weeks and haven’t been able to trim (I’ve been keeping up with it for the last 7 months, since we’ve been married)… Turns out we BOTH prefer me trimmed… It’s just much neater and cleaner πŸ™‚ haha… AND seriously sorry if any of that is Too Much Information… I just remember being very worried about it, and feeling awkward starting that convo with my girlfriends, so I figured I’d help ya out πŸ™‚

I’d say do what makes you feel good about yourself.

I wasn’t a virgin/didn’t wait, but I made sure my la-la-land was nicely manicured beforehand. I didn’t go crazy though. Darling Husband gets creeped out by the nothing there look, he definitely likes things looking like a grown woman!

@KatyElle:  la-la land is my new go-to word for my lady bits πŸ™‚

A side note, I have a hard time “trimming” myself  Going hairless via cream was much easier for me. I’m interested in knowing how some of you ladies do it. Sissors?

@Luckygal5571:  I did try scissors early on in our engagement, but I did not like using them!
I bought a trimmer (From Walmart)… It was recommended by one of my best friends (and BM).

Here are links to it.. It looks like Walmart has a newer version now, the one I bought is the exact one at this Amazon link.  And it works great! I have no complaints – I don’t use it as my razor, I just use the trimming end of it.

Our wedding night was our first time, and I just trimmed. I think that is the best way to go if you are not used to shaving/waxing. I get ingrown hairs and razor burn if I shave, which is not how you want to spend your honeymoon, and I find stubble pretty uncomfortable during sexy times (both stubble on me and on him–he decided to try shaving one day and I was not a fan haha!).

And yes…it definitely gets easier to talk about sex things after you start having sex!

I only trim with scissors when my Darling Husband says it’s getting too long. And I don’t have a bikini line (I can’t remember the last time I wore a swimsuit). It’s all natural. I was pretty self-conscious about it when we got married, but he said he liked it and that’s all the encouragement I needed to forgo the discomfort and work of any type of other upkeep.
