Dear SO,

I know we can’t afford a ring for a while but that doesn’t mean you can’t propose. I’m not your ex. I’m not going go run as soon as I say yes. I didn’t run after you lost your job. I didn’t run after your mom’s cancer diagnosis. I didn’t run after you had to file for bankruptcy. I didn’t run after your mom’s death. I’m still here.

I know you would rather wait until you have a more stable job but with our luck that’s not going to happen anytime soon. And I’ll have to keep sticking a boot up your ass to get you to work on applications more than every once in a while and neither of us like that. We both want our lives to be moving forward and I think it’s time to stop letting Fate call the shots and take our lives into our own hands.

And honestly, since we’re designing my ring together, it makes no sense to me to have me be that involved and then shoo me away so you can propose. Just propose already!!!

*kisses* I Love You!!!

P.S. Please don’t propose on Christmas.  That shouldn’t be my gift this year. A proposal is a wee more important than a present.  Love You!!

P.P.S New Year’s is fine though!!!

Dear boyfriend,

I hate calling you boyfriend after this long. Stop over-thinking what ring you want to buy and decide on one so I can call you my fiance. k thanks

Love the Dear boyfriend letters. Just have to share. So, my SO was telling me how smart I was (talking about my job) and that I could negotiate or talk people into anything. He said, “seriously, is there anything you could not negotiate or manipulate out of someone.”

Me: “Do you really want to know?”

SO: “Yes, I do!”

Me: “An engagement ring.”

LOL – just had to share. the look on his face was priceless.

happy turkey day to you all. I hope lots of rings come to fruition.
