@Rouquine:

I’m sorry. I don’t know why people get that way sometimes. Flu =/= baby. People need to learn this!!!

That happened to me already and I actually am pregnant, but its so ealry I am not telling any one any time soon.

I have received a few facebook messages from relatives asking if I am pregnant due to my recent bout of illness (which was NOT due to pregnancy, just a winter bug).  I actually got a text from a friend that said “sorry you are “sick”…was it in the morning?!”  Just because I am married I am no longer allowed to get sick without people making assumptions!  People are annoying.

@Rouquine:   Could you imagine if that got back to the director?!

I think they would figure it out a few months down the road when your belly isn’t growing…. Don’t worry about it.

So annoying. This happened to me over Christmas – and both my husbands grandmother and best friends mother asked if I was pregnant! Nope, got a stomach bug… No babies here for a long time! I typically don’t care much but it makes me wary to tell people when I’m not feeling well.

People can be so annoying! My mom asks I’m pregnant if I say no to a glass of wine, or say I’m tired, or say I was sick. -__-

I can’t imagine working with psych patients and geriatrics while pregnant, but I’ve heard enough stories from my mom and sister regarding those patients.  They are both nurses (LPN and RN), one in a geriatric nursing home with no dedicated alzheimers unit, and one in a psychiatric state hospital for children.  Not the best place to work sometimes!

For me, if I get queasy, or get the flu, I automatically get the pregnancy questions, because I have a tummy, which I want to get rid of.  But it’s ridiculous – I even get asked when I’m due by strangers at the grocery store.  Ugh – I’m not pregnant – I’m just FAT!  OK???
