I posted this on my facebook yesterday because I was so moved by this story.  Is it any wonder why we have children growing up unable to accept themselves and full of self loathing.  Perhaps if we could love them and accept them the way they are, they would grow up able to as well.

I’ve read this several times re-posted on FB. I think even Ellen had it on her FB. I’m thinking this has gotten back to dad by now and I hope he feels like a total A-hole!

If any of you have kids, this article sounds a lot like the book “My Princess Boy”, which is the true story of a 6 year old boy who calls himself a “princes” and learning about acceptance. I read it to 3, 4 and 5 year olds every year as the stepping stone to acceptance.

What a great article!

This was a great article. What a sweet big brother. I hope that dad gets over his pompous-ass self quick!
