So I was bored this evening and decided to Google “groomsmen fail” for a bit of a laugh.
I found this, and the first thing I thought of was “Duncan on WeddingBee”.
I don’t know if he’ll ever stumble across this thread or image at any time, but I couldn’t help but chuckle at the thought of what his face would look like if he ever did see it:
I thought of him only because he shared his fantastic recap with us (in which he and the new missus looked truly stunning!) and because if there is anyone on here who knows his stuff about suiting up, it’s Duncan.
Thanks, mate. There are so many brides-to-be who are absolutely clueless when it comes to menswear (myself included), so it’s great to have you dropping a line every now and again.
I was half hoping he would end his recap photos with something along the lines of “…and THAT, my friends, is how you Suit Up.”

@prahajess: Mmm yeah, I probably should have included a “may cause blindness” warning in the title somewhere… XD

I wonder what they will think of that in 20 years. I can tell you from experience that when you are in your 40’s and 50’s and you look back at something “unique” you tried to do, you just might be asking yourself, “what in the Hell were we thinking?” I’d like to hear the explaination to their grandkids someday….

What’s really really sad, is that my sister’s friend just had a ‘country wedding’ and the groomsmen were in similar attire – although they, thankfully, had sleeves.

@MsGinkgo: Dinner jacket and jeans… sigh. And the sky blue vests/ties aren’t helping. I’m not a fan of that kitsch anyway, but that blue with the jeans? Come on now. Even when I was 17 and didn’t know anything, I wore a Tuxedo better than that.

i think it’s funny! is it elegant? no. is it chic? no. is it flattering? no. is it stylish? no. but i like that they’re doing something different!

The best thing about that picture… the “farmer tan” on the groomsmens’ arms… ROFL!!!

Ok this is horrendous, but can I just say- that’s one loving woman right there. She totally let her husband have a LOT of say in the wedding and let his vision shine. I couldn’t do that.

@bebero: The things that are not different started out as something different, and other people started doing it because it was a good idea. This is not one of those.
