Thank you for wearing a wedding dress with sleeves. Seriously. I am fully confident that your decision will sway the trend in a significant way, which means that in about a year or so when I start hardcore scoping out dresses, I’ll be able to find some that aren’t strapless. This is a good thing; I’m a 34DD, and I’ve been to a few too many weddings where the bride spent the entire evening trying and failing to tame the girls.
Your choice of gown has undoubtedly saved me from a host of embarassingly inappropriate pictures. I thank you.
Anyone else stoked that there will most likely be more options that aren’t strapless?

I am! If they’re done in a non-matronly way, I am ecstatic to see sleeves come back again.

That’s my deal with it, too… my mom’s sleeves were… well. Mommish. But I thought Kate’s were done beautifully! And heck, I’ll even settle for straps instead of sleeves! I just need something that’s going to contain the girls, because I dance like a damn fool.

Dear Kate Middleton, your dress was good for you and I thought you looked nice in it. That being said it looked kinda itchy and, while everyone has the right to wear what they want, I hope this trend doesn’t come in style all that much. Frankly Kate, you couldn’t pay me to wear those itchy looking sleeves in the dead heat of late May/June/July/August. But as I said it looked great on you.
How about capped sleeves or straps?

I’m totally good with capped sleeves/straps. I’d probably prefer them compared to the all-out lace, at least for me. But it does make me hope that more designers will do something other than strapless, for a change.

I agree. I wanted sleeves originally, but every shop I walked into was like, “Oh no. We don’t have anything with SLEEVES.” I wasn’t even asking for long ones like Kates!! Just something other than strapless!!!

I won’t be wearing sleeves, but I am glad she’s bringing them back.
As for them being itchy…I highly doubt that her designer custom-made lace was itchy. Knock-off lace (and any lace that I can afford haha) is itchy, but my guess is that hers was really, really soft.

The main reason I am making my dress is because I don’t want a strapless dress! (It’s also a lot cheaper!) I loved Kate’s dress 🙂

Love it! I didn’t have that problem but I LOVE your outlook and “letter” *thumbs up*

Yeah…the only apprehension I would have with sleeves would be with synthetic lining if you perspire a lot. 😮 Arms need to breathe, especially when dancing!
Wouldn’t be an issue with lace or cap sleeves though!

I love sleeves!! There’s a part of me that kinda hope that sleeves/straps will be more popular now.

I had long lace sleeves for my January wedding- no sweating issues!! and I didn’t have to worry about feeling insecure about my bad arms.

I just had this convo with my sister the other night. It will be nice for the upcoming brides to have a wider choice in the neckline.
I love mine, one strap, I would never do sleeveless and I’m average size.
Full out sleeves might be a bit much but heres hoping for more options.

I hope all the wedding dress designers read your letter:) I wanted sleeves simply because I was tired of strapless. I didn’t want cap sleeves because they make my arms look fat. Finally I just gave up and got strapless.
