I really can’t see the dresses too well and your hand is covering your stomach in a pic so I definitely can’t see much.

akk380:  If you want your tatoos to show, you need a strapless dress or spaghetti straps. And honestly, I dont like any of these dresses on you (not that I can see them that well with your hand over your stomach). You are like me and carry your weight in the middle. Sheath dresses like the one’s you’ve choosen are not the most flattering for our body type. Try an A-line dress. Nothing too poofy that makes you feel like Barbie Princess. But the added width at the bottom of the dress will help balance you out.

And for the love of all things holy, do not get an empire waist dress. I thought those would be the most flattering since it would skim over my belly. Yeah I looked like a pregnant line-backer.

akk380:  I love both of those dresses on the David’s bridal website!

I love dress one as is. The collar is edgy, and it is the kind of dress a girl who rocks that kind of ink. Unless, you go strapless, there is really no getting around the partial covering of the tat. I personally prefer the small band of fabric covering a small piece of the tat as opposed to it being mostly covered with a just a small portion of it showing.

akk380:  I like option 2 or 3! The portrait neckline is super flattering.

Agree with PPs, I think maybe spaghetti straps or none at all! Have you thought of A-Line dresses?

Also it’s a bit hard to see the dresses on you. Have you got any pics from futher away? I know it’s hard when you take the pics yourself. 🙂

I actually really love the halter neck on you, but I see your point about the tattoo.

If you want to wear straps AND show your tatt, probably maybe you could look at a single halter/necklace strap, or keyhole halter, like in this dress:

I think you could actually make this work with the first dress – convert the halter to a sweetheart and then add the halter strap, especially if you could get beads to match the one on the dress, or move the beads that are under the bust.

As for the rest of the dress, it’s hard to tell from the photo. I think your first dress is satin and has ruching, in which case I think it’s probably a better option. But, like the PP, I think you’d be better in an a-line dress, or at least a slim a-line. (I am also a plus size apple shape and a slim a-line is what I wore.)

I prefer the first dress on you of the two. I think you could do better though! Your waist looks pretty small and I don’t think either of those dresses compliments it. Have you tried on an A-line or empire waist dress?

I agree if you want your tattoo to show you need to get a strapless dress. I don’t really like either dress. You can find a better one for sure!
