natural all the way! You are beautiful but the drop waist does nothing for you. I hope you don’t take offense to that, because your body is slammin’ drop waist is just really hard to pull off.

wb123:  sorry OP but these dresses are all wrong. I think you would look better in something that does not hide your figure. I know it’s not what you are asking but i feel like a ball gown particularly the ones you have shown are a little too much dress for you. If you feel as though a ball gown is best i would have to say that the second to last would be my vote.

I’m in the minority here but thought that you can pull off the drop waist gown.  The second gown you show would look  good once altered to your shape. Right now you look short in it because it’s too  big, doesn’t have a crinoline under the skirt and the camera angle is looking down on you instead of even with you or looking up at you. The last dress you post also looks good on you. The line of lace applique going down from the waist draws the eye down and lengthens you.  If you are petite and want a ball gown style I would look for a dress like Allure 2701.

When you post pics be sure to tell us if the dress is clipped in the back or too small so we take  that into account when offering our opinions. Pick the dress that makes you feel like the best possible person you can be. Your confidence and happiness will shine through.

wb123:  I voted “natural waist” but my answer is more complex than that!

I think if you are looking at ball gowns and a-lines, a natural waistline is best. Because you don’t have a large hip-to-waist ratio, owing to being slim all over, these styles create the illusion of a smaller waist by flaring out where the waist is smallest.

But I think you could wear a drop waist if the transition from bodice to skirt isn’t too dramatic. I’d be thinking more of a gentle trumpet style or sheath/slight mermaid. These styles aren’t going to define your waist as well but they will highlight your slimness and make you look taller.
