Right here goes loll

Yes you can embed diamonds into yellow gold. 😂 the only thing is you will see the claws round each stone if its claw set, or some gold between each stone. Will contrast with diamonds  Which some like some don’t. Me personally I do.If set in white will blend in. Again someslike some dont. Its something you will need to push her on.

Again the mixed metal look is very personal. Alot of women that iIknow perfer matching. I know  Kate Middleton has a mixed metal set.

If your unsure and don’t want to push her on these things, think about asking with a cheap pretty dress ring and then let her be involved in the design of the auctal ring.

Or ask the compaby you are working on it with what there return , refund or remake policy is in case she does not like it

I’m not a huge fan of white diamond pavé in yellow or rose gold. IMO, pavé is supposed to give the illusion of one solid, sparkling line and I find the contrast distracting. That’s just my personal opinion.

On the other hand, I don’t mind the look of mixed metals. In fact, I like it for a wedding set because it gives you the opportunity to mix metals more freely with the rest of your jewelry. That’s also just my personal opinion.

So it sounds like your options are:

1) Get the yellow gold pavé e ring and the yellow gold band

2) Get the platinum/white gold pavé e ring and mix metals.

The “right” answer comes down to personal preference. You might be better off just asking her, or showing her several different options and seeing which she likes best.

singhularity :  It sounds like you are doing a wonderful job picking out this ring and I am sure she will love it no matter what. If she had a strong preference either way, I’m sure she would have either hinted it, or had it on a Pinterest board or something. She is lucky to have someone so thoughtful!

Hmm you’re right that this is a very subjective question. I think if she strongly feels her wedding band should be yellow gold, then you should also get the engagement ring in yellow gold. Its both classic and timeless, and also really coming back into style right now so I don’t think you can go wrong. And you can definitely have pave stones in whatever colour metal you want.

I personally love mixed metals and prefer the pave in white gold. I would go wg for the engagement ring and yg for the wedding band. Especially if she is flexible and not super specific about what she wants other than the traditional yellow gold wedding band.

I disagree with the last point about not embedding stones in yellow gold. I just did a Google images search for yellow gold pave engagement ring and I think it looks pretty, so my advice would be to go that route. I personally don’t like mixing metals–but everyone is different on this, she might be fine with it. Good luck with whatever you decide!

singhularity :  your welcome.

Have a Google search for mixed metal wedding sets and then yellow gold wedding sets. It may help you get a better idea of what each will look like . Plus there are plenty of ring boards on here for more idea.

Good luck for your choice and upcupcom engagement and I am sure she will love whatever you pick

Just want to add that I have (French) pave in yellow gold and I think it looks great, so it’s really up to personal preference. Happy to provide pics if you still need help making a decision.

Definitely agree with personal preference! If you think she would prefer at least one piece in yellow gold I would do that. Maybe even the set and offer a rose or white gold or platinum peice down the line and see what she thinks then.

Sure the thing to do for alot of people might be white metals but that doesn’t mean it has to be that way for everybody. I pretty much wear platinum only but that’s because I have skin allergies. If I didnt.. omg.. I would have gotten rose gold everyyyyythiiinngg!

I’m from Europe, Sweden to be exact and you’re right about 18k yellow gold being dominant on this continent. I love yellow gold and that’s what I’m going for with my e-ring and wedding band and I’m personally not a fan of mixed metals. I do think pave looks gorgeous on yellow gold! I’ve probably never seen rose gold in my life for real so I would say that the safest bet for your Belgian girl is yellow gold, unless she’s indicated that she prefers another metal. Good luck! 🙂

Is she big on social media? Because if she has a Pinterest, problem solved! If not, just go with whatever is prettiest to you. If she wants it to be a surprise, she’s probably pretty open to whatever you pick.
