And one more thing, they’re only doing this because the Millennial population is aware/”woke” enough to understand how shitty they are and knows better than to buy into their nonsense. Diamond sales are decreasing and gemstone sales are increasing. They’re scared so they’re doing this.

Bleh! This predatory pricing, trying to make lab made diamonds seem inferior. This company is a huge reason why I made sure there where no diamonds in my setting. And my Future Sister-In-Law is going to get engaged soon. I keep on showing off my pretty moissanite and showing her the upgrade version of mine, the Amira gem. I will buy no diamonds as long as debeers is in business.

I’m not that excited. The value of all diamonds will go down because of this. This is going to change the market completely.
Not excited at all, because I refuse to purchase anything from DeBeers. I don’t agree with their business practices.

What a joke. I bought a diamond over ten years ago, and in or around 2013 there was a class action lawsuit for anyone that purchaced a diamond in the time frame I purchased mine, because DeBeers had been controlling the prices and it was shown that people overpaid for their diamonds during that time frame. I think all I had to do was send a receipt proving I bought my diamond then.
Recently, the lawsuit was settled, and the defendents won, yay, right? LOL, sure if you get excited about a pay out of 10 bucks LOL.
No thanks, DeBeers ripped me off enough already. I do still have and love my diamond though, what can I do now, right?

I’m not sure i am interested in buying any. However I am very curious about looking to see what they look like if anybody else does buy them. With them refusing to grade the diamonds it makes me think the cut is going to be poop and I am not okay with poop cuts x.x I will be keeping an eye on this topic for sure though.

I wouldn’t. But I refuse to buy any diamonds from manufacturers or the “industry” (as opposed to antique or second hand) for personal moral reasons. The diamonds being lab grown does not make me want to give money to companies I think are unethical.
But that’s just me

you guys.. I just was scrolling through IG and this pic of Scott Disick came up on my popular page. It was posted this AM, I read the caption and for sure think Debeers paid him to post this.. seems a bit too random/pointed towards lab diamonds/sims to be a coincidence.. like what random man has this strong of feelings towards lab diamonds that he just HAS to post to his millions of followers lol thoughts?

Hmmm. I’ll keep an eye on the Debeers situation, but I dont think I’ll be purchasing until their prices compete with moissanite prices lol…Also, they definetly paid Scott for that post. Not taking advice from a grown man who dates children.

If it sparkles like the ‘real’ thing, then why the heck not?! Who is stupid enough to ask you, “hey! Is your ring man-made?”
No one could tell I had a moissy. Until my Darling Husband advertised that to everyone.

No thanks. No interest in participating in DeBeers’ attempts at saving themselves, I don’t trust them.

I found their website if this helps anyone:
I’m curious if they will be cutting pears/oval/radiants etc. They show round of course and princess on this website. I also wonder if they will be cutting any stones larger than one carat?
No info on the cut, clarity or color (of white ones I mea) either. They will be engraved with a mark to indicate their “quality”. But they don’t specify as of yet.

PrincessPeach13 : I agree! DeBeers is awful… and people are more informed. I am a bit biased though… lab sapphire on this girl! 😉
