It’s getting so wonderful and busy on here!!
b00kbug: Welcome!!! I know how stressful it is when you get an early BFP, I got mine at 9dpo too! Like, we want one early, and then are just basket cases until AF is late haha. But those lines are definitely getting darker! By the way, love that you POAS every hour to watch it get darker 🙂 Unfortunately, 8 weeks is normal for the OBGYN… I went to my regular doctor just because I have an HMO insurance plan, so I need to be referred to an OB, so I got bloodwork done at 14 dpo just for that. Now that I have been talking to my OB, I won’t be seen until weeks 8-10, and no ultrasound until week 13 🙁 But since my first batch of bloodwork was so early, I go back for more on Monday, and we are hoping to see numbers of at least 5,000, or else I go get more blood drawn every other day until we hit 5,000. Then I can stop with the bloodwork. Sigh.
MissLunchbox: Welcome!! I will definitely be keeping my fingers crossed for a nice sticky baby for you 🙂 You’ve worked so hard to be here, and it’s so fantastic that you finally made it!!
QueenGreen: It’s alright, I finally got everything straightened out. I just had to keep pestering them until they did my referral. It’s just dificult because they all have lunch breaks when my lunch is, so I have to call while I’m at work and I feel like my coworkers can hear me… so thankfully that part is over 🙂 I have my first appointment (other than bloodwork appointments) on April 17, yay!
determinedtobee: Hahahaha yep, it’s slightly ridiculous (I know that feeling!), but just do whatever you are comfortable with 🙂 As far as telling people goes… Well I already told my parents! I can’t keep my big mouth shut. It was actually the plan to tell our parents this week… my parents on Wednesday, and then we are telling DH’s parents tonight. Then next week, we will tell our siblings, and the following week, I have to tell a couple of my friends because I’m in their weddings and want them to know why I can’t be out celebrating late, or why I am so distant with all the planning stuff. We actually are planning on telling everyone around 13 weeks, which is pretty late in our circle. Most people we know have announced at 8 weeks. I don’t know, I guess it just differs by area.
AFM, I have been feeling really gaggy which is awkward, and I am so beyond tired it is ridiculous! I finally got my first batch of appointments set up with my OBGYN. Apparently he is minimally invasive, and so I will have to wait until June 2 for my first u/s. Umm, that will not be happening. I found a place that does very affordable u/s starting at 6 weeks, so I will be going there around 8 weeks just to check on the baby. Besides, I don’t want to miss that adorable “gummy bear” stage! I think it is so cool to see how they grow and develop, so I don’t want to miss anything 🙂 Other than that, April 17 is my first appointment at the Ob, but it is more of an orientation meeting where they show you around, and do a bunch of topics such as nutrition and exercise in pregnancy, etc. And then I go back May 7 for an appointment with one of the nurses for a pap smear, breast exam, and listening to the baby’s heart. THEN I go back June 2 for an u/s and an appointment with my actual OB. So I’m excited for all of that 🙂
