well bees, this month has been super hard for me. I dont know why. After TTC for this long and doing everything “right” with timing, opks, charts ect, we still arent pregnant. (BFN at 12dpo today with a temp drop) I tried to call the Dr today and they said I may need to see a primary care doc for my struggles TTC, they dont think I can be seen at the women’s clinic for that. I dont have a primary care doctor and the wait to get  an appointment (aka established) with one in my area is 3-6months! I’m feeling a bit defeated by it all. I just needed to vent a bit and I knew you all would understand.

mrscorgi :  So sorry! Where are you located? Can you find yourself a fertility specialist? That’s what I did. Just search on google for one I thought I’d like.

mrscorgi :  I’m so sorry bee. The healthcare system in the U.S. (are you a U.S. bee?) can really make you feel completely powerless. I agree with Dr Dazzle about seeking out a fertility specialist on your own, if you can. Waiting 3-6 months just to see your general practitioner who I’m sure will look at you for 2 seconds before giving you a referral to a specialist is so absurd…I’m getting ragey on your behalf.

In the meantime, I would also suggest looking around for another OBGYN maybe? I have a MC follow-up appt with my regular OBGYN tomorrow but went ahead and scheduled my annual with a totally different practice that is supposed to be more holistic in their approach for February. I’m hoping between the two of them someone will be willing to work with me proactively on this rather than just taking the passive “well you haven’t had 3 MCs so you’re probs fine best wishes!” approach.

Dr_dazzle :  I’m generally a cold person (low iron but not anemic), so take that with a grain of salt. But I figured that there are always exceptions to the rule.

amanda1988 :  I get my second beta back today or tomorrow, but I’m not really stressing right now. They’re progressing, but not overwhelmingly strong. However, I did a lot of searching the internet and saw some interesting things.

The first is my progression- 35 beta on 13dpo. And the second and third are off the Internet of others’ progressions and betas compared, and you can see that they started with a similar beta level, but their lines are much darker. So I just am wondering if I don’t have dark tests comparatively. I know there are anecdotes about people not getting darks lines ever, and having successful pregnancies, so I’m keeping upbeat. I’m looking forward to the beta results! Good thoughts for 100+!

MooseMeese11 :  I think your lines look completely fine. You really shouldn’t expect to see a dramatic change between tests taken one day apart. Your 17dpo test is MUCH darker than your 15dpo test so I would focus on that and not worry. The blood test is the only way to know for sure that your HCG doubling appropriately, as you know. FX you get good news from your last draw! For what it’s worth, when the news was bad for me, the doctor herself called me a few hours after I had the beta, whereas every other time i went for a beta (when the news was good) I had to wait til the next day to get the results and had to badger the office until a nurse finally called me back. I think the fact that no one has called you yet is probably a good sign.

MooseMeese11 :  I’m always cold too. Also low iron. I can never go give blood because of it. Actually I was able to once. I think I ate steak 4 days in a row before I went. 🤣

tiffanybruiser :  Thanks, Bee! I would totally agree about the call.. but I have a military doctor who is … underwhelming in her professional abilities. They still haven’t bothered to relay the result of the dip-stick test that was available while I was still there. I know it was positive, but really??

I’ve just been talking to baby Meese positively and relaxing. Going to call them tomorrow if I don’t hear back today because I may need a third beta and I can’t do it Friday/Monday.

MooseMeese11 :  Oh I would just call them today to get the results if I were you – I’m pretty sure mine would have never called me back at all when my numbers were okay if I hadn’t nagged them. If you can get the results today, at least you’ll have some peace of mind and can dig yourself out of the rabbit hole that is the “HPT progression” google search lol.

tiffanybruiser :  haha, I totally gave up yesterday. I just said ‘alright, I can’t know anything definitive from this, so I’m just going to let it go’. Letting things go as they will and just going on with it. Day by day 🙂

Dr_dazzle :  I’m in oregon. In a very small rural area so finding specialists may not be so easy. Im certainly up for the challenge though.

tiffanybruiser : yes im in the states. its so frustrating sometimes because I feel like I can’t ask for what I need when it comes to my OB.  I had been intending to switch to the midwife when they said they couldnt see me for issues with ttc, so I called my old OBGYN and got an appointment with them for early Jan. Basically theyre getting me in for a well woman visit and I’m hoping they’ll hear me out and not just send me on my way.

MooseMeese11 :  your progression looks good to me!  Everyone must translate from blood to urine hcg differently, I wouldn’t stress overly.  That and batches of FRER must be different.

MooseMeese11 :  I think your progression looks great!

I know how you feel worrying about the progression of the tests though. I tested again twice today, and my lines were definitely fainter than yesterday on the internet cheapies (I used the same brand, so it’s not because they’re different). I remember with my son, I had a noticeable progression each day. The fainter line had me worried, so naturally I whipped out a FRER lol. I’m happy with how it looks, but I have nothing to compare to because I didn’t take a FRER yesterday. For all I know, it may have been darker yesterday. I’m from Canada and they don’t offer blood testing for pregnancy in my province.

This was today’s FRER:
