@nemoandthebrain:  I feel like we have so much to do, I don’t know where to start! I’m working on settling on our bar service, cake, flowers and centerpieces, and invitations. My bridesmaids are getting their dresses and once we settle on the bar, we can take care of the rentals. I guess those are the main things! We’re also doing some wedding prep with our priest and church.

We’re also taking our engagement photos next week and will send out our save-the-dates after that. Need to make our website, also!

I feel like there’s so much to save up for, too!

June is going to be huge for us getting stuff done –

1) registering

2) wedding coordinator meeting (we’re getting married at a resort in the Bahamas)

3) first dress fitting

Eeeek – 6 months is not that long!

Since my venue is seen as a “destination” venue, they are really doing most of the work as far as food, tables, chairs, linens, cake, bar service, everything but music, flowers, and the officiant.

My dress came in last month and I shipped it to my parents’ house so I can have my first fitting when I visit (I went dress shopping alone). Fiance is underway and I’m about to PCS, so I hope I don’t leave anything important in storage, haha. I so would.

I’m probably going to do all the flowers for the centerpieces myself, but flowers for bouquets, bouts, and corsages are best left to the professionals.

Save the dates, invites, RSVPs all ordered and will go out soon-ish to allow ample time for travel plans.

Also, I let out a high pitched squeal when we finalized the guest list. Just feels good to get things done! πŸ™‚

Ahhh I know we still have six months, but I feel like I’m so behind! Need to decide on alcohol, rentals, and centerpieces. I’m making our website so we can send the save-the-dates. Entertaining a lavender theme, but I don’t know if we could pull it off in the winter!

@nemoandthebrain:  Oh thank you! I picked aubergine bridesmaid dresses so I’d like to see if we can pull the lavender theme together in our color palette! I hope it works out!

How is everyone doing? Are you all getting stuff done this summer? I feel like it’s already flying by even though it’s just June. I’m super excited about the cake baker we picked out. Best cake I’ve ever tasted!
