Hi everyone! Am I bad for deciding to take the month of December off? It’s so busy & I just really want to enjoy the Christmas season 🙂 Although we do have the majors booked: Location, officiant, DJ, photographer, dress bought, and we are pretty much decided on tuxes & Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses. The only thing is that I am going to have to get on a cake & florist AS SOON as christmas is over!

You say about festive things this month i’ve got a 30th birthday too! Bye bye twenties – you’ll be missed.

Anyway so wedding stuff, last week my Mum and I visited two florists and I booked the second one we visited, she was great. I know officially that was the end of November but well, it’s near enough as I’m excited about it now. And, my Mum got me my Wedding day jewellery – a bracelet for my birthday (19th Dec) and earrings for Christmas, bless her. I’ll also be searching for a DJ and a car.

<3 June 😉

Lol, I just blogged about this! I have a jam-packed Decemeber! I need (or want) to:

  • Take engagement pics (long distance made this hard to arrange)
  • Figure out what the guys are wearing
  • Finalize the guest list
  • Start our registries

Also, I’m starting my weight loss *now* especially since my study abroad experience left me with an extra 10 pounds!! EEK!

I just moved and started a new job, so I haven’t been in wedding mode.  Then last week I had an anxiety dream about my wedding, so I’ve spent this whole weekend on weddingbee!  Some of the things I want to accomplish this December include:

  • Starting a fitness regiment
  • Finalize centerpiece/table decor
  • Make the Fiance decide how many groomsmen/bridesmaids we’re having (I know it’s late, I’ve been bugging him for 6 months now) and get their suits made
  • Start designing invitations

There’s a lot more that I want to accomplish, but I don’t want to get overwhelmed!

  1. Pick a florist – this is number one.
  2. Start working with the friend who’s designing our invitations/discuss initial sketches.
  3. Depending on when my other friend sends it to me, try on the muslin mock-up of my dress and get it sized.
  4. Visit possible rehearsal dinner restaurants with Future In-Laws when they visit at christmas.
  5. Select officiant.

I’m trying to get as much done this month as I can.  I’m on winter break between semesters starting Thursday so I’ll have four weeks to get as much done as possible.  Next semester is going to be crazy (I’m writing my law school equivalent of a thesis) so I want to try and get a lot done while I can.  The major things I want to get done are:

  • Pick a DJ
  • Pick a florist
  • Order invitations
  • Start working on centerpieces
  • Hotel blocks/shuttles/etc.
  • Look into linen rentals
  • Pick a veil, accessories, & shoes
  • Start registries (my aunt is throwing us a shower over my spring break in March lol)

Hopefully I’ll be able to get a LOT done over the next four weeks but we’ll see.

Unfortunately, with the holidays wedding planning has taken a back burner….BUT I need to do this before the end of the year:

  • Reserve videographer
  • Make sure BMs have dresses ordered
  • Order bridal veil
  • Reserve baker
  • Research invitation design
  • Research honeymoon (roadtrip through France and Italy…gonna take some time!!)
  • Begin registry
  • Come up with ceremony music
  • Send florist contract
  • Send ceremony musician contract

Oh, man…and it’s end of year at work, where will I find the time!

I want to get a lot done in December, but I have a feeling I won’t get as much done as I’m hoping!

  • Buy FI’s wedding band
  • Meet with officiant
  • Finish designing invitations
  • Choose tuxes for wedding party
  • Work on DIY crafts while Maid/Matron of Honor is on Winter break
  • Finish registries
  • Book cake baker

@BlueChampagne: haha, yep.  We decided we were giving each other our rings for Christmas, so we wanted to buy them soon.  Luckily I found mine within about fifteen minutes of looking.  He, on the other hand, wants something unique and hasn’t found one he likes yet!  So, he might be getting a belated Christmas gift this year!

Woohoo!  Just checked off the first thing on my December checklist (starting a fitness regiment).  I signed up for a gym and went for a run!  I hope I can keep this up!
