I’m pretty sure I ovulated yesterday or today.  I never really got a positive opk (but I personally think I got a dodgy batch, there have been too many irregulaties between them all) anyhow. There has been a significant reduction in my cm today…and I was a bit crampy yesterday (Mainly small twinges) anyhow, it’s all enough evidence for me to keep my December 6th POAS date. I REALLY REALLY REALLY want it to be this cycle because if it doesn’t, I’m out for a good 6 months due to Uni scheduling. 🙁 fingers, toes and any other body parts crossed for all of us throughout December!!!

@Pink Asawa:  I bet she didn’t know what it was, but still…I’m sure you’ll have trouble looking her in the eye for the next few days haha.

@PatientBee:  Ahh I remember when you posted about that and I still cringe just thinking about it.

@BellaDee:  Haha my husband doesn’t do that (he has his own quirks…), but I think it’s cute!

I’m not a huge drinker, but I do indulge fairly often at social gatherings. I’ve been playing it off since ttc by having one drink very slowly during 2WW and drinking normally during AF, and no one has noticed. Most of my friends are younger (I’m 31) and we’re all in grad school, so babies are the last thing on most of their minds. A few of them never want kids so they wouldn’t understand. The first week after my wedding when we went out I did get a comment of ‘thank God, we thought you might be trying to get knocked up all of the sudden’ when I had a glass of wine. Hah, little do they know…drink  (within moderation) ’til it’s pink:) I think I’ve pulled the wool over their eyes for now. If I do get a bfp however I think I can avoid the issue with friends by claiming that my bloodsugar has been giving me problems since I’m hypoglycemic. With family I can use the med excuse or just say I’m not feeling it that day- they won’t push so hard like my friends.

Well ladies. I did it I bought opks today at Walmart.  I bought the answer brand, but now looking at reviews I was wondering if I should return them.  The reviews are mixed. Anyone have experience or advice???

@PatientBee:  Just as an FYI for your hubbies … the belief that men need to save up sperm is actually a misconception. I go to a reproductive endocrinologist because I have PCOS and he gave me a general handout on fertility. This is an excerpt from the handout: “Contrary to popular belief, frequent ejaculations do not decrease male fertility. On the other hand, a long period (5+ days) of abstinence may negatively impact sperm counts. A short period of abstinence (2 days) has no impact”. So tell them not to worry about saving it up!

Hello December ladies! Let’s make some Christmas babies!

    ROLL CALL

    Current Cycle Day/DPO: CD 1

    Ovulation Date/fertile window: 12/4 – 12/11

POAS Date/Usual Cycle Length: 12/22? Usual length is about 28 days

    Cycles Trying: This is #3.

BFP Plan (BD timing, supplements, etc.): Going to keep using OPKs this cycle, and try SMEP again. I didn’t follow it to the letter last time, but it did help us get in good BD around ovulation. Continuing to take prenatals, but no other supplements at this time

Link to Chart, if any: Here you go

Errrm. A new job! I’ve been doing some soul-searching about leaving my current job, and a recent incident has solidified for me that it’s not the right place for me to be working. So, I’m starting a job search, and if I could find one by Christmas, that would be pretty freaking sweet.

Also, I voted Other in the poll – my favorite holiday movie is Home for the Holidays with Holly Hunter. Her crazy family reminds me of mine.

So I’m on CD18, and I’ve been taking the OPKs for a few days, simply because they just arrived in the mail and even though it was sort of late I figured I’d give them a shot. Well, it seems like they are getting darker, so I’m kind of concerned. They’re still not positive, but if they’re getting darker and I have yet to ovulate, that would mean my luteal phase is super short. My cycles are super predictable, so I would likely only have a luteal phase of 10 days. This is so sad to me. Anyone have any experience with this?

@NLbride:  Isn’t it possible that you’ll have a longer cycle this month?  Maybe your luteal phase won’t be shorter, your cycle will just be longer.

@Mars62312:  I suppose there is hope, but since I started having periods my cycles have always been really predictable and like clockwork. I just took another OPK and it was positive. So I guess I’ll likely ovulate in the next day or so. If my period arrives as scheduled this means my luteal phase is really short. FX that this cycle will just be longer. Thanks for your positivity!

Update:  Crosshairs showed up for me super early today.  Then, they randomly changed to dotted lines.  I never got a positive OPK so we’re going to pretend like I didn’t ovulate and keep BDing and taking OPKs  If I did O, FF says we have a “good” chance.

Here’s my chart.  Do you think I O-ed?  If so, my cycle will likely be 28 days when they’ve been averarging in at 34 days!

@MrsFireChief:  I’d give them a shot.  The mixed reviews are probably more from user errors.
