I normally like to pride myself as being pretty awesome when it comes to gift giving but babies are totally not my forte. Our nephew is turning 1 this weekend so we need to come up with a gift for him. The kid already has everything that a normal 1 year old would have so I’d like to get something a little more unique but still relatively inexpensive (no more than $50 but preferably closer to $25). Any ideas? Since I need it for this weekend it will have to be something that I can purchase locally.

Ugh buying for little kids is hard! We just got our 6 month old nephew a stuffed animal because thats our tradition. Each niece or nephew that is born we get them the perfect stuffed animal (with no beans b/c Darling Husband is crazy) so that years from now they will still have it and remember us.
I know thats not unique either, but its our thing!

Do you have pictures of him? Could you get him one of those “My First Year” collage picture frames and fill it with pictures of him over the past year?

Books are a great gift. I started this tradition with my nieces and nephews years ago.
You can do no better thing than to encourage a child to love reading.

I posted a similar question and ended up taking one of the hive recs and bought a book from “I See Me” – super cute, great quality, and I loved the personalization. The company also has a killer warranty – if the pages get torn, chewed, etc – they’ll replace it for free!
I’ll hunt down the other thread – I had great recs!
