I just have to say that Key West is my favorite place in all of Florida (I live in Ft. Lauderdale) and my 21st birthday and the best 4th of July of my life were spent there. It is an amazing place and just to tell you, of all the times I’ve been there, I went to the beach there ONCE. It is definitely doable – I can do a little research too.

I just had a thought. The Hard Rock on Duvall St. is amazing. I know you mentioned a garden wedding or a beachy vibe but would that be an option?

Or a waterfront restaurant? Then you would have the docks and the water but it wouldn’t on the beach at all.

Ok I found the place. The Key West Garden Club. http://www.keywestgardenclub.com/Weddings.html

Their website isn’t as detailed and well organized as it could be but I’m sure there are some other Key West wedding websites where you could find details and you could call.

We got married in Key West in April. We had a beach wedding, but I checked out a lot of options before deciding. My suggestions would be a wedding on a sailboat. We went to one in May and it was spectacular at sunset. A hotel would also be gorgeous. The Reach and Southernmost on the Beach or the Southernmost House have really nice facilities. I’ve also seen a lot of beautiful wedding photos from ceremonies at Casa Marina which is a Wldorf Astoria property.

Good luck finding the perfect spot. You have so many fabulous options in Key West.

Friends just got married at the Ocean Key Resort on their pier.  So, right on the water, but no beach – it was on the dock/pier itself (wood like a wood deck).  It was an amazing wedding and Key West was crazy fun.  I never saw a fabulous sunset, but it didn’t detract from an incredible wedding weekend!

hii.. i just got back from key west actually scouting out some wedding venues.

i knew that key west beaches were nothing to brag about, it’s all about the water there. i just didn’t realize how much i would really miss the beach for wedding.

idea was to get married on the beach at ft. zachory taylor and then reception at ocean key’s sunset pier. the sunset peir is truly beautiful and they do a great job…i’m just not sold on the ft. zachory taylor part.

soooo now i’m on here looking for ideas for a new destination (i think?)

I just got back from Key West and stayed at Casa Marina. I think their only other ceremony option would be a ballroom–maybe the pier? I would definitely find out about the food. If it is the same thing they are serving at the restaurants, that’s a problem. It is a beautful location and i liked how they completely cleared half the beach for wedding ceremonies so no half-nekkid people are in the pictures.  Latitudes at Sunset Key was beautiful and the food was good. I would also check out the sail boat option. I think the Hemingway House would be beautiful, but I’m not the groom:)
