I don’t really see the difference in the ring you had to the stock photo but maybe because it’s so enlarged. I have the same round brilliant in a cushion halo with 1.5mm diamonds so the halo is slightly larger. I think my band is 1.85mm. I had mine made custom because I wanted the slightly larger halo than what I was finding in the stores. Each stone in the halo stands out more and the sparkle is incredible.

That sais, I like the ring you originally had for you too. Maybe slightly larger band but not much. It’s lovely. I understand the anxiety of getting the ring right. I’d say I spent too much time overthinking and second guessing everything from the diamond we picked out to the setting sizes, etc while my ring was being made. it wasn’t good. i had to step away from looking at rings and just relax and trust my decisions.

Heres mine if it helps you decide. (.96carat RB in 1.5pt halo)

futuremrsvande:  if you love the ring I have than I’d for sure say get the chunkier halo if they’re 1.5mm like mine! I love that each stone stands out at times like individual little diamonds Whereas the smaller ones blend in a bit more and a more delicate. If that makes any sense. Haha. It’s a very slight but obvious size difference in the halo. Do you know what the mm width of your band is?

I’d at least get a thicker band. I thought I originally wanted a 1.5mm band too but when I tried it on it was just too thin for my ring setting. Especially with the pave. 1.8 is still delicate but much sturdier than 1.5.

Keep in mind, before you base it off her ring as your “dream ring”; your main stone is bigger than hers, right??  Your bigger stone won’t have the same contrast hers (Joco)does so make sure you base it off of the same size main stone with the large halo stones.    Her’s stands out because there’s less difference between the stone and halo size… but your stone will make the halo stones look smaller.  Does that make sense?   By The Way, Joco… I LOVE your ring.  Gorgeous!!!

magnum96:  Thank you! Very good point and I think if I follow correctly her stone is 1ct moissanite Which I think also faces up a bit larger than diamonds. 6.5mm I believe (could be wrong). My center stone is 0.96carat diamond measures 6.3mm. The difference is not very much and for larger stone It’s not as noticeable so I still think it would have the same effect as my ring still.

If you’re sticking with the same style I’d say keep what you have it’s lovely. The only thing id change isn’t an option, so no worries!

futuremrsvande:  Ahh well I admit I’m biased for a tapered band look. I would have two bands going into one look either with or without diamonds. A few examples below:

Or I would maybe suggest if you go for a single band then to consider doing the nesting wedding band: http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41CUin7aSuL._SY300_.jpg

Just my opinion, but I understand if you don’t feel that it’s YOU, I know I’m biased.
