Thanks again for the boost in confidence over my what-I-perceive-as-major-bingo-arms insecurity/craziness. I appreciate you guys and this website!!!
After obsessing all morning, I decided to just buy a bolero. That way, once all my nerves start disappearing during the wedding, I can just take it off and flash my guns! I like this option better too because I am getting married in 90 degree weather, and it will be HOT. The satin dress is already heavy and hot so the last thing I want to do is add even more heat!
That being said… What kind of bolero do you think looks best for my dress? Do any of you ladies have any photos of yourselves/others in a satin dress? Also, here are a few Bolero options I found on Etsy. Which one do you think would look best?

I personally don’t think you need it BUT………………if you are not comfortable in your dress then I suggest you get it alterated. You dont want to be feeling self conscious on the day..you want to feel beautiful…so if there is any doubt now, I would fit it.
I voted the 1st one.

You don’t have bingo wings! And I know bingo wings, mine are GIANT, lol. If you’d feel more secure with something “covering” them. I think the 1st or 3rd options are your best choice. Either would look absolutely lovely with your dress. Great choice!

You don’t have any bingo wings! That dress is gorgeous and so are you!
if you must, I love the lace 🙂

Also, mind sharing where you found these options? I am also looking for similar arm covering (but 3/4 sleeve) and am wondering if they have more options.

Number 2 will look like cheap material compared to your beautiful dress.
1 or 3 for sure, but I’d go with 1 – its a more unique, and stunning – love those buttons.
@Lady Baker: Martina Liana and San Patrick make some absolutely gorgeous lace boleros… this is the dress I came *thisclose* to buying:

I agree that you look beautiful in your dress and don’t need to be covering anything up! That being said (and sorry if I am being totally clueless here)…what exactly are bingo arms?
Anyway, I love boleros in general, and I think #1 is stunning!

First of all, I don’t you need to cover your arms. You look gorgeous in your dress! But if I had to choose a bolero for you,I’ll pick the short sleeve lace. Even tho option 1 is gorgeous, it cuts your arm off at it’s widest part making the arm look big. I have arms that aren’t that flattering either and I always found that if I try to cover it up, especially with lace, it makes me look even bigger. I voted but I still say go Strapless!

While I don’t think you need it, if it will make you more comfortable, I’d go with the first one.

You’d want a shorter sleeve if it’s going to be a hot day, but I think this is elegant and it goes along with the sash pic you posted first… it makes the lace work with the entire dress, I think, and it’s a great example of how the two different fabrics (lace and silk/ satin) can look perfect together…

Thanks again for all the great advice ladies! I think you guys are right about the capsleeves.. I realized that i NEVER wear capsleeves because it DOES make my arms (i think) look chunkier!
@Lady Baker: Here is a link for the 3/4 sleeve on ETSY. I am debating if I want a short sleeve one or a 3/4 sleeve one… I wonder which will make my arm look skinnier???

@jjmomma: Was this your dress? I LOVE the lace-satin look!!! GORGEOUS!!!! and YOU look gorgeous too! Thanks for the example!

@JanuaryBride2012: I wish that was me! LOL She is gorgeous, huh? I found the pic on a google search for lace boleros… I didn’t end up wearing anything on my shoulders because my husband doesn’t like lace (ugh!!!). Now I wish I had just worn what I love, b/c in the moment, a groom loves what he sees on his bride, no matter what it is. (I wore Enzoani Davenport)
And, hon… I almost sent you some model pics from the Saks website… I found one with off the shoulder and one with cap sleeves right next to each other… and even on the the stick thin chicks the cap sleeves made her look like a football player!
I thought of one more thing (I am so sorry to keep making suggestions!)… If you do go with bolero, you might want to try it with hair up vs. hair down… I think it needs to be up or it’s too heavy with the hair, the lace, the veil… just take pics of everything to see what you like best. That’s how I chose, b/c pics look so different than what we see in the mirror.
Definitely post pics of your final choices! We’re all cheering for you now! 🙂

@CrispyRN: I agree with you and voted for #3. I personally think #2 was designed with an older woman in mind.

I don’t think you need one but if you do….I would pick #3. I don’t like #2, and #1 doesn’t look like it covers enough arm if that is your concern,
