Can you draw a diagram of the shape of the room? The pics don’t really show the shape of the room.

I love the look of long tables, they are SOO pretty!! So I would push two or three together and then have 3 long rows (vs. seperating the tables like in the pic.)

If you can hang items from the ceiling, white lights would be very pretty, I know several bees have done this w/ similar ceilings.

Your venue is VERY pretty by the way, both inside and out!

Those wood beams are stunning!  Could you connect all the tables on the ends to make a large U shape or something interesting like that.. then put the dancefloor on it’s own?  It seems that there is a lot of open space and not enough definition between the different areas.  So creating little “zones” so to speak might help to create more flow and warmth.

@wescarley: Beautiful place.  Love the windows!  What is your theme?  One idea is to places small trees or large branches in five gallon buckets with cement and string with white lights.  Wrap the buckets in fabric to dress them up.  You can also spray paint the bare branches something glittery.  By grouping several close together you can add some more intimate spaces to such a large room.  I have also seen people borrow artificial christmas trees for that purpose or build decoratives screens.  Hay bales work too but might not work depends on theme.

It looks like a rectangular room to me. Is it the barn style roof that you are labelling as “odd”?

It seems so big!  The windows provide such a pretty view.  I’d think that you could dangle some japense lanterns from the ceiing and i htink having the long tables wold help form a dance floor.

@ wescarley, I will get some photos together for your this weekend, as you mentioned there are very limited photos available online.

I’d check with the venue on the laterns if you want to put them inside (i recall that they may have some limitations of hanging things from the ceilings)  I’d be happy to help with ideas as well (my fiance and I visited the venue practically every weekend for the year leading up to our wedding!)
