- Wedding: April 2012
I have pretty much stuck with a garden/vintage wedding theme. However, I am having problems throwing everything together. I HAVE PLENTY OF TIME TO PLAN this, but I seem to be going every direction when it comes to decor and theme. Once I like one idea I see a picture that makes me change things up a little. Enough to where it is driving me crazy and I can officially say I have no idea how everything is going to come together.
I liked the idea of having the indoor garden scene, but NOW I want everything to be bright and cheery. When I say indoor garden I was going with different shades of purple and different shades of green. With flowers and greenery everywhere! I still really like this idea, I just want to brighten it up a bit. So this is where I need your help. Here are some of the ideas that I am kind of stuck with (b/c I jumped the gun and purchased a few things) and that I like a lot.
*My centerpieces are going to be floral arrangements in shades of purple, lavender, and pink-ish purple with green leaves sticking out here and there. (I will have a mock up of my centerpiece some time next week). I am not relaly STUCK with this idea, but I did talk to the florist about it already.
*I also plan on setting up a small “garden” scene for my photobooth. I have a bench that I am borrowing from a friend. I also purchased a small water feature and I plan on having hanging plants here and there. I am also throwing down some turf.
These are the ideas I have come up with but not really jumped at yet. (So there is room for change here)
*I can’t afford to buy mismatched china and tea cups, so instead I was going to invest in vintage mismatched napkins. That way it gives the table the pop of color with out costing me a fortune. As far as the napkins go I was thinking about sticking with shades of green and purple again and possibly making them myself.
*I also planned on having hanging flowers here and there….on different levels. Some hanging from the ceiling (in areas people do not walk) and some hanging on shepards hooks. With of course a few on table surfaces. AGAIN sticking with the shades of purple and green.
*The tables were going to be white table linens with lacey ivory overlays. (Working on finding nice overlays)
*Christmas lights were going to be everywhere!
That is it for now!! The problem I am having is deciding if I should stay with the shades of purple or throw some color in there. It is a spring wedding so I would like for it to be a little more bright. I was thinking purples can be bright? right? I can’t picture it. I feel like it is going to be dark and gloomy. It is indoor afterall. SO if you have any great ideas or input on my ideas, PLEASE share.
