Im starting to think now that I am able to decorate the inside of the house that I really dont know how to make the house look decent. I feel like our house looks like a college persons house when we are both in our 30s. How can I add decorations to the house to make it look more adult like? Any suggestions can help. Our kitchen stuff as in coffee pots and blenders are red. Our dining table is a 7 ft long cherry wood. Our living room is basically browns lol. And our bedroom has just a bed since we like to hang out clothes.

Fiance and I watched HGTV a lot when we first moved to get a feel for what we liked and we started there. We not only found out that we like clean, modern looks, but it helped us take risks, such as painting our living room a deep brown. Watch a few shows together and see what you like!

Pinterest! There are an overwhelming amount of good ideas there. Do you have an account? If not, you can create boards for whatever you want. You could make a bedroom one, a living room one, kitchen, etc… and then just start gathering images you like. You might start noticing common themes and colors and then you’ll have a better idea as to what you like.
As for your living room, you can add colorful pillows, vases, and other accesories to break up the brown.

Ikea have launched a new share space, which is a site where people upload their rooms decorated with ikea furniture. It is an excellent source of inspiration.

I like cozy I guess lol. You know that warm family feeling some places have. Not old lady style but not young. We have alot of wood items like fruit holders, lazy susans, a catch all key plate as I call it. Darling Husband likes clean lines and not alot of clutter. We registered for some pics of trees and leaves at target. I think I am going to do the kitchen sort of a tex mex chili pepper pattern. Most everything in the kitchen is red, black, and silver. I guess you can say I like rustic stuff. Or all the shabby chic stuff at target is another thing I love lol.
Pinterest is my new fave thank you for telling me about this Cafegirl.
I guess I am just scared that when we have kids that my house wont look like a house that is a family or has a kid. Or scared I wont know how to decorate the babies room.
