Hey bees! So my Fiance and I will be using a church fellowship hall for our rehearsal dinner and could use some advice on how to decorate it. It’s a typical fellowship hall–a little yellowy, fluorescent lights, etc. We don’t want anything too complicated and would prefer not to hire vendors (aside from a florist, so DIY is great). What advice do you guys have for us? Thanks!!

MKWeddingBee: There are an infinite number of ways to decorate a church hall. Have you checked Pinterest or Google for ideas?
Do you have a color scheme or theme?
I see your wedding is at the end of June.
You can use string lights and paper lanterns
or lights and ceiling draping
There are many other ideas you could do depending on the look you are going for. Tell us something about your wedding.

julies1949: Paper lanterns are such a cute idea!! Love! I could do them in different shades of blue to go with our beachy theme.
I’ve seen mixed statements about whether the rehearsal dinner is supposed to tie into the wedding reception with colors and theme or whether it should be different to avoid giving anything away. What do you guys think?

MKWeddingBee: You can use the same colors or hint at the color scheme at the rehearsal dinner if you like. Then again, you can choose to go in a completely different direction.
