As long as its not floral and pink or purple (“too girly”) my husband does not care.

We have this bedspread and even this was teetering on the edge at a grey/purple with those “flowers”.

Your headboard immediated reminded me of this duvet. I suck at design though, so that may be too much of the pattern and color.

Or, another option would be to pick a different IKEA printed fabric and make another duvet cover out of it (that yellow fabric your mom used was from IKEA – I used it in my wedding decor!!). Or any fabric shop would have lovely fabrics that would go with your neutral headboard. It’s really easy to sew duvet covers!

I love your champagne headboard.  What about a plain neutral colour?

Darling Husband and I moved in together before we got engaged, our room was bright pink so of course we had to decorate.  I was lucky that he didn’t mind what I did but I decided to go with neutral colours, we have had a white bedspread for ages and I was a bit worried at first about stuff showing on it, but maybe having no children atm and no pets helps.

Anyway here is our bed, hope it helps!

You can also just get two queen sized sheets , if that is a double bed, or king size sheets for a queen bed,and stitch them together on 3 sides. Use buttons, a zipper or velcro to close the 4th side.

my SO doesn’t have the same issues with color, if the bedroom was pink and sparkly poodles everywhere, he would’t care. we just can’t see to find something we like. the dining room has 20 different sample paint colors and neither of us can decide what color we both like.

We have a comforter with a quilt over (so all you can see is the quilt). It’s light blue and brown stripes (with some white) and the there is some antique/hardly noticable floral in it. I love it, and Fiance doesn’t care much either way.
