When we had our puggle we were super lucky to have already owned a couch that was micro fiber. It was easy to vacuum the fur off of. They do shed quite a bit. I also suggest investing in a good vaccuum for wood floors. Height was never a problem for her, she was able to get up on everything.

I’ve had 2 pugs- fawn and black.  They do shed like CRAZY (invest in a shedding blade or furminator ASAP… and do it daily!) You really may want to consider not letting them on the furniture.  I’ve had microfiber and it is decent especially if you have a color that matches the fur.

@jessierhysy:  Usually if you have a dog that barks a lot that is a training/attention problem and not a breed/genetic problem.  Just make sure that when you get the dog(s) you invest in some good training classes (not just for the dog but for you and SO too so you can continue their training and nip bad habbits in the bud) and make sure they’re getting enough attention and excersice, even when you’re gone at work.

I just recently moved out of my mom’s house, and she has a fawn and a black pug.  Congrats on the pug ownership.  They’re the most fun little clowns you’ll ever have!

Yeah, they shed like crazy, so a couch that can be easily cleaned is a good choice.  We just would cover the couch with blankets when we didn’t have company, keeps maintenance easier. Pugs seem to love doggy beds and cushions, so one for each baby will make for happy dogs, even old pillows will work.

One thing about pugs is they’re very stubborn.  My mom’s dogs were very difficult to housebreak, and still sneak a pee in every once in a while, even though they know better!

@jessierhysy:  Yeah, super naughty, and other pug owners seem to have the same experience, but they are too much fun!

Pugs shed their body weight in hair every single day.  At least that is how it feels!  As long as you have a couch that is easy to clean you will be fine though.  Keeping a pug off the couch will be somewhat difficult as they are VERY attached to their owners and prefer to spend their time attached to your hip.

I also concur that they are naughty little creatures who are impossibly stubborn.  However, those smushy little faces and huge personalities make it so worth it!
