OK Ladies,
I have a serious problem. My church has a few stairs that lead up to the Altar, which is where we were planning to stand during our wedding ceremony. However, they have now installed 2 huge wooden railings in that space. It is right in the middle of the church, and it is unfinished wood. It looks like someone slapped a couple 2X4s together and bolted them to the floor of my otherwise spectacular church. I’m less than 8 weeks away from my wedding and am really at a loss. I’ve already contacted to church about removing them for my wedding. They said absolutely not. Not even if we re-install them ourselves. Does anyone have any ideas about how to decorate or camoflauge these railings without making it look too much like a dance at Summer Camp when you were a kid? Our theme is “fall in love” and our color scheme is mostly chocolate and gold with fall leaves as accents. We are more sophisticated fall than rustic/harvest fall, so please do not suggest hay bails and pumpkins . The railings are closer together than a standard arch, as this was my first though, to just put an arch in front of them. Any creative DIY brides out there? Please HELP!
