We am working on decorations for our ceremony. It will be outside in front of a large oak tree that has hedges around it. We were thinking that we could use an arch and a few large boston ferns to define the space for the ceremony. I think it would be pretty, but also our florist is a friend and is letting us borrow the ferns instead of renting them. However, I’m having a hard time picturing what it would look like. Here are a couple pictures of the ceremony venue. These are from google so they aren’t the best, but maybe you can get an idea of how the space looks. I have an idea of how we would like the arch to look, but I have no idea how the ferns would look. Does anyone out there have pictures of ferns incorporated into the ceremony decorations? If you could share, that would be great. Just need a little decoration inspiration!
This is from inside the reception hall. You can see the tree through the window.
This is from another wedding that was held at the venue. It is difficult to get an overall view of the ceremony area.
This is the type of arch I had in mind. I think it is lovely with a bit of rustic charm. Just not sure how the ferns would look with it.
Any and all suggestion are welcome 🙂

@Kat9344: Depending on how many ferns you get to borrow, you could line the aisle with them, then do a separate arch.
you could elevate the ferns on a pillar or column
this wedding arch is made with plumosa ferns
rather than an arch, you could suspend a large birdcage from a branch and fill it with a fern
you could use the very tall shepherd’s hooks and hang the ferns on either side of the altar
I think a rustic wedding arch would work very well with ferns. You can cluster them at the base on either side of the arch and also line the aisle if you have enough ferns. If you don’t you could place ferns at the beginning and the end of the aisle.
You could make these 4 arrangements larger by incorporating branches etc.

@Kat9344: This is simple but very pretty!

Thanks for the suggestions and the pictures. I really like the idea of having them on colums or shepards hooks, but I also like the idea of having them clustered on either side of the arch at the bottom. These are all really great pics. I think we are only getting 6 or 8 ferns. So, I don’t think we have enough to line the aisle with, but that is such a great look. Decisions, decisions…

I used ferns on each side of the aisle.
