I don’t think that flows well well together.

I would do something like this.. but even then, I think these colors are very dark.

How light purple are you willing to go? And how much dark purple do you want?

Lighter colors look dress drab to me, but that’s a personal preferance.

What on earth is that thing where you can pick colors to go on the table and chairs? I want to use that!

I like the purple on purple but I don’t like the chairs. I’m doing white table linens with purple napkins and purple uplighting! Maybe a lighter chair color?

Here’s a patterned purple on black. No runner though.

@jenilynevette:  Thanks! I am getting linens but I have nooo idea what colors I’d want and this at least gives me a place to start.

Also somewhat entertainingly, the first picture on their splash page is the opera house in Dallas, lol. (My family is full of opera fanatics so we’re there a lot.)

I’ll make up a few using different variations of purples, blacks & whites & ivories, maybe it’ll give you some inspiration.

Are purple and charcoal your wedding colors?

Are the chairs in that pic your venue’s chairs or the decorator’s?

Do you have a pic of your venue’s chairs?

In the spirit of full disclosure, I hate chair covers. I think they create a mass of color that takes away from the tables as the center of attention.

Purple on purple with charcoal just seems too dark and dreary to me for a June wedding.

I would do white linens with a charcoal overlay or runner and leave the chairs uncovered, unless they are totally unsightly. You can bring in purple with your flowers and napkins.

If you want more purple you could do a purple cloth with grey runner.

Even though the chair covers are charcoal in color they make me think of garbage bags…

I think you can definitely get away with using many kinds of purple. Think of purple as a spectrum from blue purple to red/magenta purple. Also, accents of beautiful greenery as centerpieces would look beautiful with the purples. Green and purple are awesome together.

Also, think about contrast. Darker colors and lighter (not pastel) colors.

Hope this helps…
