Over the next week its going to be family overload.
Future Sister-In-Law coming into town — she’s a diva, and also a bridesmaid, I have 1 day to talk to her in person before we’re going to see each other for the wedding. She’s already been flaky (honestly who can’t find a bridesmaid dress from a major designer in LA?) I’m not really looking forward to this.
We’ve got 1 day of family whirlwind here before we hop on a plane and travel to see my family.
My family hasn’t seen Fiance in over 2 years, they were never SUPER thrilled about him. They like him, he’s a likable guy. But they really wish he was a doctor or a lawyer. Which is funny, because we’ve never approached having one of those in the family. That’s going to be a week long drama fest I’m sure.
Dress shopping with my mom and rather flaky best friend, it’ll be fun, and probably really stressful. My mom has it in her head that I’m going to wear her dress, she was 5’8″ 120 at her wedding, I’ve got about 30 lbs on that and don’t really know how I feel about her dress. Though, that’s a rant for another thread.
Not really a point here, just feeling overwhelmed as I enjoy my last few minutes of tranquility in my abandoned workplace before the craziness begins.
Anyone else bracing for imminent holiday insanity?

Ahhhh yes, the dreaded family wedding/holiday bananza! lol
If you just keep taking a deep breath and remembering that its YOUR day (as well as your FI) things will work out. Just don’t make any changes in the heat of the moment (or conversation) because you may be persuaded and its better to agree than to argue. lol Don’t! You need to argue woman! lol
Yes, I will be going through the same during this holiday season (since the Big Day is so close). People have just received the bridal shower invitation, and should be receiving the wedding invitiation very shortly, so I know the quesitons, buzing, “Are you excited yet?” “Have you picked out your hair, yet?” “What about your make up?” “And what song will you be dancing to?” “And will you be announcing the entire family”. etc.
: sighs : I think we’re all going to have to take big deep breaths lol

I hate my workplace i can’t even imagine hiding out there for the calm before the storm.

lol I can completely understand that. But, sometimes .. even the worst places (like work) can be tranquil for us crazy brides during holidays.
I may just sleep at mine and say my car broke down lol

UGH YES – because I don’t have much vacation time, we’re really packing it in during the holidays. Our first day we have to go get our marriage application direct from the airport because the govt is closed- she’s coming in on her day off so that is really nice of her but I really hope there’s no delays getting to the town from the airport because we’re pressed for time. My sister and another Bridesmaid or Best Man have gone dress shopping already, and already it turned into drama because I didn’t answer the texts of their dresses in time. I’m going with them again on sunday but now of course theyre not answering their phone so I dont know if they will be able to go. We’re visiting friends on Thursday night, and then Friday I’m getting my hair trial and makeup trial done, and then heading straight for the first Christmas for my mom’s side, the next day it’s at our house with my dad’s family. This is FI’s first christmas with us I don’t want to overwhelm him but… its probably gonna happen!

well, I just feel lucky that work is one of my favorite places (yay for actually having a job that I DONT despise for once in my life) I’m just going insane right now, though, luckily we’ve staved off family for one evening of packing, christmas music and WINE. My Fiance really knows how to make me destress!
