Going on our honeymoon later on seems to keep coming up in conversation. I’m on the fence about it and was wondering if any of you bees had any regrets either about honeymooning right away or about waiting to go. I guess my biggest concern is just going back to work after the wedding, back to life as usual, rather than relaxing!

@sherryberry: I have heard it’s definitely better to take at least a day or two off between the wedding and honeymoon to unwind… But I can see what you’re saying about wanting to relax for the full week after the wedding! Hope other bees who have actually gotten married have better advice for you… LOL

@sherryberry: we have to have a delayed honeymoon too 🙁 I’m excited to get married and then honeymoon later, like hawaii at Christmas! You’ll get to return to work and brag about your amazing wedding right away, so that will be fun too. Maybe take an extra day off of work before you return and just cuddle with your new husband.

@sherryberry: We are waiting until two weeks after our wedding to go on our honeymoon because of work schedules. I will be taking two days off after the wedding and Fiance will either take one or two days off as well.
I wish we could go right after the wedding, but it just isn’t feasible.

My Fiance can only take 3 days off from work, so we are doing a quick trip to San Diego. Then we are planning for a week long honeymoon next summer when he gets back from deployment. I kinda like the idea of having something to look forward to a little bit after the wedding. If I were you I would take at least 2 days and have yourself a mini honeymoon and spend some quality time with your new hubby 🙂

@sherryberry: we are contemplating this because we need to arrange child care, and we have a full week where grandma can take them in August, a month after the wedding. if we do that, we still plan to take Monday and maybe Tuesday off after the wedding.

Don’t do it! We went the day after and even though it was abit of a rush opening all of our gifts and cards, I wouldn’t of had it any other way. I can understand people taking a day, but honestly, after the whole wedding day all I wanted to do was relax on a beach with my new husband. If you can avoid a delay, I would

We’re doing a short “mini-moon” right after the wedding and then the big honeymoon 2 months later. Best of both worlds!!!

We did a quick 3 day trip to Vegas right after the wedding just to get away from everything, it was awesome. Our true honeymoon that we’ve been planning and saving for since the wedding, we just got back from (only took almost a year and a half to get to it but whatever) – a 2 week trip through Europe. Zero regrets on waiting so long, it was something awesome to look forward to and was our first MAJOR trip as a married couple.

We delayed our honeymoon 5 months. We got married at the end of September and DH really wanted a ski honeymoon. Well, clearly that wasn’t happening in September so we delayed and took a 2 week honeymoon to Vail, CO in March. I’ll be honest and say that it really didn’t feel like a honeymoon, it felt like a regular vacation. We still had a blast, and it was awesome to get away. Then again, I think the reason it didn’t really feel like a honeymoon is that we’ve been together 13 years. We’re pretty much past the “honeymoon phase”. 😉

We’ve had a few honeymoon phases in the seven years together, so I think there is at least one more lol
Fiance has a month off in August (paid) and I am free to take my two weeks’ vacation, so it makes sense that we go, it’s just figuring out where to go, being able to go for longer than a week (we both feel that a week isn’t enough) and all these silly little things.

we’re getting married September 21st and our honeymoon falls during October 26th-November 2nd. Granted that’s because that was the earliest that our time share was available in Florida, but it works out because my birthday is October 29th so we’re knocking out two events in one big trip!

We are postponing our honneymoon too. I start school 2 days after our wedding. It’s ok though. All I care about is that we’re going to be together. We are having our honneymoon 3 months after our wedding. Maybe we’ll have a hybrid (2day) honneymoon.
